Position Summary The Social Media Manager will lead day‑to‑day content creation and community engagement across GSCWM's social platforms. This role supports our mission by showcasing Girl Scout programming, amplifying stories from troops and camps, and strengthening connections with families, volunteers, and the broader community. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and excited to highlight the leadership, adventure, and service that define the Girl Scout experience. Your passion for digital marketing, combined with your creative flair and analytical mindset, will drive our social media initiatives forward. Key Responsibilities Content Creation — Produce short‑form videos, photos, graphics, and written posts for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging platforms. On‑Site Coverage — Visit summer camps, troop events, and community programs to capture authentic, mission‑aligned content. Community Engagement — Monitor comments and messages, respond to inquiries, and maintain a positive, inclusive tone. Content Calendar Management — Plan and schedule posts to ensure consistent storytelling throughout the summer. Brand Stewardship — Uphold Girl Scout brand standards, voice, and values in all digital communications. Analytics & Reporting — Track performance metrics and provide weekly insights to staff on engagement, reach, and audience growth. Collaboration — Work with program staff, camp directors, and volunteers to identify stories and gather media permissions. Qualifications Social Media Experience — Familiarity with Instagram Reels, TikTok editing, and storytelling best practices. Photography & Video Skills — Ability to capture high‑quality, candid content in outdoor and fast‑paced environments. Writing Skills — Clear, upbeat, and mission‑aligned writing style. Youth‑Centered Mindset — Comfort working around children and representing their experiences respectfully. Organization — Ability to manage deadlines, schedules, and multiple content streams. Mission Alignment — Commitment to the Girl Scouts' values of leadership, inclusion, and community service.
Preferred:
Experience with Canva, Adobe Express, CapCut, or similar tools. Work Environment Hybrid role with travel to camps and events across central and western MA. Some evening or weekend coverage may be required for special programs. Must have reliable transportation. Compensation Competitive hourly rate for seasonal nonprofit roles (typically $16-$20/hr depending on experience). Mileage reimbursement for travel to events.
