Communications Director Principal Function:
The Communications Director leads the development and execution of all internal and external communication efforts for Church at The Mill. This role provides strategic oversight and day-to-day leadership to ensure clear, effective, and aligned communication across all ministries and campuses, supporting the church s mission, vision, and philosophy of ministry. Reports to:
Operations Director Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and develop the Communications Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, accountability, and spiritual growth. Establish and oversee comprehensive communication strategies that support organizational goals across all ministries and campuses. Provide strategic direction and prioritization for projects, ensuring the team s work aligns with church-wide initiatives and timelines. Partner cross-functionally with ministry leaders and operational teams, serving as a trusted advisor to help shape effective communication plans. Monitor team performance, communication effectiveness, and marketing metrics; adjust strategy and coach team members to improve outcomes. Oversee and direct major communication initiatives such as new campus launches, church-wide campaigns, serving initiatives, and giving campaigns. Manage external vendors and contractors, including relationships, contracts, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring quality and alignment with expectations. Develop, manage, and steward communication budgets with responsible planning, tracking, and accountability. Provide leadership and decision-making during emergency or crisis communication situations, ensuring clarity, consistency, and timeliness. Oversee end-to-end media and video projects by delegating, reviewing, and guiding team output to ensure excellence and consistency. Ensure all communication efforts adhere to established brand standards, best practices, and reputation management principles. Competencies & Qualifications Demonstrates a personal lifestyle and confession consistent with the belief that Jesus Christ is Lord. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in communications or digital marketing, with demonstrated experience leading teams or managing collaborative workflows. This position will require church membership at Church at The Mill Bachelor s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Working knowledge of SEO best practices and digital engagement strategies. Proven ability to lead, coach, and organize people in a fast-paced, ministry-driven environment. Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with Google Workspace and experience using project management software (Monday.com preferred but not required). Knowledge of print production processes and experience coordinating with vendors and contractors. Flexible availability as ministry needs arise, including special projects, special events, and Sunday morning responsibilities. Hours and How to Apply:
This position is Monday-Thursday 8 AM-5 PM and Friday from 8 AM - 1 PM. •This role calls for flexibility, with occasional after-hours support for large-scale events, Sunday morning responsibilities, and time-sensitive communications.
