Key Responsibilities Assist with development, execution, and evaluation of external engagement and outreach activities with local elected officials, regulatory bodies, economic development professionals, trade associations, interest groups, and other key stakeholders
Coordinate with NRG Political Action Committee (NRG PAC) activities, including member recruitment and retention events, in compliance with all applicable regulations
Assist with NRG PAC budget planning and execution
Work closely with the Philanthropy and Government Affairs teams to coordinate and represent NRG Government Affairs at community engagement and charitable initiatives
Contribute to long-term strategic initiatives that enhance the company's visibility, credibility, and influence in priority markets
Coordinate outreach and public engagement activities for projects of varying size and scope across multiple markets
Organize, facilitate, and support formal and informal meetings, and other stakeholder engagement forums; coordinate promotional materials and gather stakeholder feedback
Maintain accurate and organized public affairs stakeholder contact lists and databases
Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations to support advocacy initiatives and internal communications
Support advocacy initiatives and external event coordination Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public affairs, political science, communications, public relations, journalism, business, or a related field
2-4 years of relevant experience in public affairs, government relations, community engagement, communications, advocacy, or stakeholder relations (internships and relevant project experience may be considered)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, persuasive messaging for diverse audiences
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, manage deadlines, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in maintaining contact lists, tracking engagement activities, and preparing reports
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
Experience preparing presentations, briefing materials, scorecards, or performance metrics for internal or external audiences
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools Preferred Qualifications Experience engaging with elected officials, regulatory agencies, trade associations, community organizations, or advocacy groups
Familiarity with public affairs, government relations, corporate advocacy, or political processes at the local, state, or federal level
Experience supporting advocacy campaigns, coalition efforts, or third-party engagement initiatives
Exposure to corporate philanthropy, community investment, CSR, ESG, or volunteer programs
Experience coordinating events such as stakeholder meetings, open houses, community forums, or outreach campaigns
Knowledge of PAC operations or campaign finance compliance (or willingness to learn)
