Job Description

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 14 years of experience leading negotiations or business development. Experience in people management.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience developing public affairs and campaign-style strategies to deliver exceptional solutions. Experience in people management with an ability to scale a team. Ability to identify opportunities and areas for improvement, and operate in a fast-paced environment. Ability to operate independently. Ability to represent the company externally in public forums, industry events, and other engagements. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and influencing skills. About the job Google's infrastructure needs go far beyond server computers. As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future - everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business. The Public Affairs team is responsible for building Google's reputation and presence among key decision-makers and in the markets where we operate. We create strategic, scalable solutions that deliver authentic impact. As the Public Affairs Manager, you will be on the front lines of this effort, acting as an advisor who shapes our data center initiatives to align with local and state priorities. You will be a leader, identifying and maximizing partnership opportunities with local institutions to effectively tell the story of Google's commitment and long-term investment. You will lead the team of Public Affairs managers across the US. Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. Responsibilities Safeguard the data center lifecycle in existing and future markets through public affairs strategies and ongoing stakeholder engagement. Manage public affairs campaigns across multiple states, ensuring a cohesive and impactful strategy. Build and maintain critical relationships with government officials, community leaders, and key opinion formers to ensure a positive and sustainable operating environment for our facilities. Collaborate with a broad set of internal teams and external partners to bring projects from concept to completion, upholding the organization's highest standards. Serve as a key ambassador for Google by amplifying Google's economic, energy, sustainability, and social contributions with key stakeholders and third party groups. Translate initiatives into tangible local benefits, positioning Google's presence for growth and innovation. Lead a team of regional public affairs managers.
