Job Description

Position Summary The Referral Relations & Outreach Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and strengthening Tandem Behavioral Health's referral network to support sustainable program growth. This role serves as the primary external-facing representative of the organization, building and maintaining relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other key stakeholders. The Referral Relations & Outreach Manager ensures that referral development efforts align with organizational capacity, clinical appropriateness, and ethical standards. This position monitors referral trends, evaluates conversion outcomes, and identifies opportunities to improve referral flow and partner engagement. The role requires a balance of relationship management, data-informed decision-making, and accountability for performance outcomes. Key Duties & Responsibilities Referral Network Development & Management Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing referral sources through consistent and proactive communication. Identify, develop, and establish new referral partnerships across healthcare providers, community organizations, and support services. Maintain regular touchpoints with referral partners to ensure ongoing engagement and alignment with program offerings. External Representation & Outreach Represent Tandem Behavioral Health at community events, provider meetings, conferences, and outreach initiatives. Promote organizational services in alignment with clinical capabilities and program capacity. Serve as a professional and ethical ambassador of Tandem Behavioral Health in all external interactions. Referral Monitoring & Performance Analysis Track and monitor referral volume, source activity, and conversion outcomes. Analyze referral patterns, including quality and appropriateness of referrals received. Identify referral leakage, including root causes and opportunities for process or relationship improvemen Reporting & Strategic Alignment Provide regular reports to leadership on referral activity, trends, partner engagement, and market insights. Collaborate with leadership to Support data-informed decision-making related to growth initiatives and service line expansion. Compliance & Ethical Standards Ensure all outreach and referral activities are conducted in accordance with ethical standards and applicable regulations. Maintain alignment with organizational policies, mission, and standards of care. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Total referrals received Referral-to-admission conversion rate Number of new referral relationships established Engagement and retention of active referral partners Identification and reporting of referral leakage trends and actionable insights

Qualifications Required Experience in community outreach, relationship management, business development, or similar role. Experience in behavioral health or healthcare settings. Strong understanding of referral processes within healthcare or substance use disorder treatment environments. Preferred Experience in substance use disorder treatment (IOP, PHP, or related services) and/or other serious mental illnesses. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience). Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to establish trust with diverse stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability for performance outcomes. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple external relationships. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights. Professional presence and ability to represent the organization in public-facing environments.
