Job Description

The Women's Freedom Center, a feminist domestic and sexual violence organization, is looking for a FT (35 hours/week) Community Engagement & Youth Advocate to join us. This role is equal parts direct support, education, and relationship-building. One moment you might be supporting someone in crisis, the next you're coordinating a training, connecting with a school, or figuring out how to make important conversations actually land with a room full of humans. Are you someone who can move between deep one-on-one support and walking into a classroom full of teenagers without missing a beat? Do you care deeply about people, community, and making systems a little more humane? You might belong here. What you'll do You'll be part of a team providing advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, including children and youth — crisis line coverage, meeting with folks in difficult moments, and helping facilitate support groups. You'll also step into the community: building real relationships with schools, youth programs, and partners; creating and leading workshops on healthy relationships, consent, and violence prevention; and helping people understand what resources exist and how to access them. Who you are You can connect with people across ages and experiences, especially youth. You're comfortable navigating both crisis situations and community-facing work, with a strong sense of boundaries and professionalism. You understand — or are willing to learn deeply about — domestic and sexual violence, and you can juggle a lot without losing your sense of purpose or humor. Bonus points if you can walk into a room and make a tough topic feel approachable without watering it down. What matters here We share the work, support each other, and try to create an environment that's not just effective but sustainable and people-centered. This work asks a lot — so we take care with how we do it. You won't be doing this alone.
