Under the direction of the Director of Special Projects and Special Projects Classified Manager, serve as a resource to and liaison between school personnel and English Learner (EL) students, parents/guardians/community members regarding the educational system. Provide oral and written translations to ensure students/families have full access to the educational system. Hearing and speaking ability to exchange information in a designated second language and in English, standing for extended periods of time, bending at the waist and kneeling or crouching to lift testing materials, and seeing to read testing, curricular, and parent involvement materials. Spanish preferred.
Qualifications:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school with some college courses or practical experience in public relations and/or community school work and previous experience in working with community agencies. Valid California Driver's license ESEA (NCLB) highly qualified as defined by the U.S Department of Education. Hearing and speaking ability to exchange information in a designated second language and in English. Translation and Interpretation certification preferred.
