Communications Specialist BHcare Inc. - 3.7 North Haven, CT Job Details Full-time 4 hours ago Qualifications Professional ethics Content editing Video communication Managing projects Social media brand management Full Job Description BHcare is seeking a talented and mission-driven Communications Specialist to support the execution and growth of the organization's communications and marketing efforts. This is a full-time position 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30. Reporting to the Director of Development & Marketing, this role plays an essential part in elevating BHcare's visibility, strengthening community engagement, and advancing fundraising and program priorities. The Communications Specialist will create and manage content across digital platforms—including social media, email campaigns, and the website—while helping to tell compelling stories that highlight BHcare's clients, programs, and impact. This role also contributes to donor and community communications, supports integrated marketing campaigns, and ensures brand consistency across channels. Ideal candidates are creative and detail-oriented communicators who are comfortable balancing content development with day-to-day execution. They bring strong writing skills, digital fluency, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced nonprofit environment. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field preferred (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). 2-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field; nonprofit experience is a plus. Proven experience managing organizational social media platforms and developing platform-appropriate content. Experience with email marketing and scheduling/management tools (e.g., Constant Contact, Meta Business Suite, or similar platforms). Working knowledge of design and video tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar). Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between BHcare locations and community events. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences and platforms. Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment, particularly when handling sensitive information and representing BHcare in the community. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects simultaneously. Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Comfort with basic analytics and reporting tools to inform content strategy and continuous improvement. Commitment to BHcare's mission and to respectful, inclusive, and person-centered communication practices. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and meet insurability requirements under the organization's auto insurance policy.
