Job Description

Position Overview:
Swim is seeking a Communications Associate to support enrollment-focused communications across multiple client engagements. This role is responsible for developing communication plans, writing and editing content, and helping institutions communicate with prospective students in ways that create clarity and move students forward. The Communications Associate works across email, web, social media, digital advertising, and enrollment communications to support recruitment, enrollment, and student engagement efforts. This role partners with Swim team members and institutional stakeholders to develop messaging, maintain consistency across communication channels, and strengthen the effectiveness of student-facing content. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor who can quickly understand complex information, translate it into clear communication, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to collaborative client work. Responsibilities Develop and execute enrollment-focused communication strategies that support student recruitment, enrollment, and engagement objectives. Create and maintain communication plans aligned with client goals, target audiences, and enrollment priorities. Write, edit, and proofread content across email campaigns, websites, social media, digital advertising, and other student-facing communications. Review communications deliverables for consistency in messaging, tone, voice, and institutional brand standards. Work with Swim team members and client stakeholders to gather information, develop messaging frameworks, and align communications with enrollment priorities. Provide editorial feedback that improves content clarity, audience engagement, and message effectiveness. Coordinate the development and delivery of communications assets across multiple projects and deadlines. Monitor communication performance metrics and campaign results, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Support audience segmentation, content optimization, and message testing efforts across enrollment campaigns. Maintain project documentation and communicate progress, risks, and emerging needs to project teams. Qualifications 2-5 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, content development, public relations, or a related field. A bachelor's degree in a related discipline is preferred but not required. Demonstrated experience writing and editing content for diverse audiences across digital and print channels. Exceptional written communication, copyediting, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to adapt messaging, tone, and voice to align with brand standards and audience needs. Experience developing communication plans and supporting strategic communication initiatives. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with Google Workspace and familiarity with content management systems, email marketing platforms, and project management tools. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret communication performance data and apply insights to future efforts. Collaborative, proactive professional with a commitment to delivering high-quality communications and supporting enrollment success. Preferred Experience Experience supporting higher education institutions, enrollment management initiatives, student success efforts, or mission-driven organizations. Ability to translate complex processes, policies, and institutional information into clear, student-centered communications.
