THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
Use the Job ID based on the Position Location as follows Location Job ID 4601 Community Drive, WPB 35125 This is responsible professional public communications work that involves a variety of proactive public information programs. Coordinates a variety of informational projects to keep the public aware of the Library's activities, services, collections, buildings, special projects, and accomplishments through print and digital media, including social media, web management system, and digital signage. Gathers, writes, and edits material to be released to the news media, periodicals, or Department brochures, flyers, pamphlets, and other publications. Participates in various stages of content creation for publicity and marketing purposes, including but not limited to producing graphical images of people, animals, places, and objects, photography, videography, and proofreading. Supervises, plans, assigns, and reviews the work of student employees.
NOTE:
Interviews for this position will include a portfolio review.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: A Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or related field; minimum of one (1) year of experience in public affairs or public relations work, including publication writing, OR An Associate's Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or related field; minimum of three (3) years of experience in public affairs or public relations work, including publication writing, OR An unrelated Associate's Degree; minimum of four (4) years of experience in public affairs or public relations work, including publication writing, OR Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of five (5) years of experience in public affairs or public relations work, including publication writing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include (must specify on application) : Experience with writing, editing, and proofreading for multimedia, Experience with desktop publishing, videography, photography, or graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite, Experience with planning and coordinating simultaneous projects with multiple deadlines, Experience with social media management, Experience with HTML and WordPress, and Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
