Public Relations and communication Specialist

Duties Develop, write, and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials that align with organizational goals. Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and industry influencers to secure positive coverage. Manage social media channels by creating engaging content, monitoring interactions, and analyzing engagement metrics to optimize outreach efforts. Conduct research on industry trends, audience preferences, and competitive positioning to inform strategic communication plans. Deliver public speaking engagements and presentations to promote organizational initiatives and foster community engagement. Proofread and edit all communication materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, adherence to AP style (Associated Press style), and professionalism. Coordinate internal communications to keep staff informed about organizational updates and initiatives. Experience Proven experience in public relations, journalism, or related communications roles with a strong portfolio of press releases, articles, or media campaigns. Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive messages tailored for diverse audiences. Strong media relations skills with a track record of securing media coverage across various outlets. Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms with an understanding of analytics to measure campaign success. Exceptional public speaking abilities complemented by research skills to prepare impactful presentations. Experience in editing and proofreading content for accuracy, tone, and style consistency following AP guidelines is highly desirable. Prior experience in marketing or branding strategies will be considered a plus for developing comprehensive communication plans.
