Position Summary:
The Philanthropic Communications Specialist develops and manages the company's donor communications and philanthropic engagement strategy. Creates and manages distribution for donor
- facing content and communications and supports the print, digital, and other collateral needs of the fundraising team.
Creative development of annual schedule of donor engagement materials across the ask, thank, steward pipeline, including newsletters, reports, email marketing, appeals, and event materials. Coordinates with the External Communications Specialist (general external audience) and the Communications & Internal Engagement Manager (internal audience) for cross-audience distribution and consistency in branding and messaging. Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field required. Minimum two (2) years' experience in a high-level communications or marketing role required. Minimum five (5) years'experience in progressively advanced fundraising or donor communications roles with proven success in relationship-management and fund cultivation, stewardship and growth, required. Prior working experience in Healthcare/Hospice industry strongly preferred. Proficient project management experience and demonstration of successful tactics required. Outstanding writing and editing skills and production of flawless written content across print and digital platforms; ability to develop content targeted for a variety of audiences required. Advanced understanding of brand management principles and knowledge of design elements with ability in Adobe Suite software required. Proficient in MSWord, Excel and Powerpoint and capable of creating visually compelling presentations and other deliverables using Canva or similar; proficient in Adobe inDesign. Proficient in use of Google suite for content creation and collaboration, including Drive, Meet, Sheets, Forms, and Photos. Advanced experience with email marketing software including MailChimp, including audience analytics and engagement required. Proficient in use of Wordpress for web content updates and basic site maintenance Knowledge of donor management (CRM) principles and software, including Raiser's Edge NXT. Proven knowledge of communications and marketing ethics and best practices required. Proven knowledge of fund development strategies, best practices and ethics, donor cultivation and stewardship, and events, required.

Qualifications:

Functions:
Content development & distribution of print and digital content for KCH donor audience; includes production of annual impact report, twice-annual company newsletter; bi-monthly company enewsletter Promote donor audience engagement including Shine enews sign-up and engagement with other digital platforms (website, blog, social media) Manage content and distribution for Spring Appeal, Year End Appeal, Circle of Lights, Sunday Night Live, and other events & mail or digital appeals; includes event promotions/advertising and in-event collateral (not event logistics) Design and develop content in support of fundraising asks and stewardship In collaboration with the fundraising team, develop case statements, reports, proposals/asks, presentations, quarterly buck slips, postcards and other mailers Manage donor-facing email marketing content and distribution plan and provide support to External Communications Specialist for social media content related to events and a donor audience Support fundraisers throughout the cultivation
- ask•stewardship pipeline, including in the development of print and digital collateral and special event support including thank-a-thon and donor appreciation events Support print and digital collateral and communications for KCH giving programs: Full Circle Society, Sustaining Angels, Smart & Planned Giving Maintain regular content updates for all Digital Donor Recognition/Welcome Boards Support communications and collateral•including email marketing•for growing FreeWill platform and other planned and smart giving activities Manage consistent KCH brand across all donor-facing communications and collateral Maintain curated thank-you letters specific to donor and ask/appeal•types Create and embed donation forms used on website and in email marketing; work with Fundraising Manager, Analytics & Insight, for RaisersEdge forms and other needs; create website pages and manage content updates targeted to donor audience Promote and develop collateral for KCH and 3rd party events (not event logistics) and Corporate & Community activities Donor audience communications & fundraiser support
