Job Description
Under the general direction of the Airport Director, the Communications Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the airport's communications, public relations, and emergency communications activities. This role serves as the primary steward of the airport's day-to-day public-facing communications and ensures accurate, timely, and engaging messaging across all platforms, including during irregular operations and emergency events. The Communications Specialist develops and oversees social media, website content, media coordination, tenant communications, special events, promotional efforts, and crisis communication strategies to enhance passenger experience, maintain public trust, and support operational continuity. This position plays a key role in coordinating messaging during emergencies in collaboration with airport leadership, public safety partners, and external agencies. This is a professional position within the context of Montana law and FMAA Policies and Procedures. Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in communications, digital content creation, public relations, or public engagement.
