Job Description

Overview Magnera's purpose is to better the world with new possibilities made real. For more than 160 years, the originating companies have delivered the material solutions their partners need to thrive. Through economic upheaval, global pandemics and changing end-user needs, they have consistently found ways to solve problems and exceed expectations. By bringing together these legacy companies, the distinct scale and comprehensive portfolio of products will bring customers more materials and choices. With a combined legacy of resilience, Magnera will build personal partnerships that withstand an ever-changing world. We are seeking a Senior Marketing Specialist to help drive our creative, digital, and event marketing efforts. This role calls for someone who looks beyond assigned briefs, proactively spotting opportunities, building relationships with internal stakeholders to surface valuable projects, and bringing creative thinking that elevates the work. We're looking for someone comfortable managing their own projects and timelines day to day, while collaborating closely with their manager and cross-functional teams. We do the vast majority of our creative and marketing work in-house rather than relying on outside agencies, so this role offers a lot of hands-on ownership over the work from concept to execution. Responsibilities Ownership & Initiative Identify gaps, opportunities, and improvements across marketing and creative work, and bring ideas forward proactively. Build relationships across departments (Sustainability, HR, EHS/BeX, Sales, and others) to understand evolving needs and suggest projects of real business value. Keep timelines, trackers, and reporting tools up to date, keeping your manager informed. Creative & Collateral Development Design and produce collateral using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), bringing creative direction within brand standards. Propose fresh concepts and alternative directions when they better serve the brand or business goal. Maintain brand consistency and quality across materials, with a careful self-review process before work goes out, including for leadership-facing deliverables. Website & SEO Management Manage website content, including the homepage and key landing pages, keeping content current and relevant. Support SEO strategy implementation and deliver regular website traffic and performance reporting with actionable recommendations. Event Coordination Plan and execute regional trade shows, customer events, and internal activations, including budget and invoice tracking throughout. Design booth graphics and event collateral, ensuring brand alignment and commercial impact. Proactively create event-related content (write-ups, banners, recap articles) as events are scheduled. Content & Copywriting Handle copywriting for case studies, press releases, blogs, website content, and marketing collateral, with strong attention to accuracy. Partner with internal stakeholders to gather insights and craft compelling narratives that reflect business priorities. Social Media & Campaign Support Contribute to social media efforts through graphic design, copywriting, content calendar management, and performance reporting, keeping tracking tools current. Support execution of cross-departmental campaigns, identifying new collaboration opportunities. Email Campaigns & Newsletters Develop and execute email marketing campaigns and newsletters using HubSpot. Monitor performance metrics and optimize campaigns for engagement and conversion. Cross-Functional Collaboration Build connections between marketing and other departments, surfacing opportunities for collaboration and new initiatives. Use good judgment to evaluate which self-generated ideas are worth pursuing relative to team priorities, in partnership with your manager. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on evolving business needs and will be aligned in collaboration with the manager to support team and organizational priorities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field. 3+ years of experience in marketing, brand, or creative roles. Experience collaborating on cross-functional projects preferred. Demonstrated ability to identify and propose self-generated projects, not just execute assigned tasks. Strong creative judgment with a track record of pushing past the obvious solution to deliver original, effective work. Strong relationship-building skills across departments, with the ability to translate conversations into project ideas. High attention to detail and a disciplined self-review process, particularly for leadership-facing deliverables. Strong organizational skills with a consistent habit of keeping trackers and timelines current. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and full Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), SEO tools, Google Analytics, and HubSpot (or comparable email marketing platform). Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Comfortable managing day-to-day work independently while collaborating closely with a manager.
