Job Description

Summary Under the supervision of the Pre-Hospital Coordinator, participates as a member of the Emergency Department team. Coordinates all pre-hospital emergent and non-emergent communications and facilitates transportation arrangements for patients being transferred or discharged from the facility. Responsible for maintaining accurate emergency medical services (EMS) data regarding all transports and communications. Minimum Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent. Minimally certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher level EMS provider, or a minimum of three years of recent Emergency Department experience as an Emergency Room Technician (ERT). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification... Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office software. Data entry skills. Excellent interpersonal communication and multi-tasking skills, and ability to work in a high-stress environment. Preferred Qualifications Two years of EMS experience with knowledge of EMS operations; a working knowledge of pertinent communication systems, and suitable analytical skills. Demonstrated experience in radio and telephone communications and EMS procedures. Certificate in Emergency Medical Dispatching (EMD) and or completion of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) course.
