Job Summary Women In Transition (WIT) is an organization dedicated to empowering people with the knowledge, support, and ability to thrive beyond domestic abuse/intimate partner violence and substance use. WIT seeks a Communications and Development Coordinator to create external and schedule communications, including social media and newsletter distribution; support special events including fundraising and awareness-raising activities; support WIT's annual fundraising and outreach cycle, including maintaining donor database, creating donor correspondence and grant report writing. This role will will work closely with the Executive Director, the external fundraising Consultant, Staff and the Board of Directors. Duties & Responsibilities Communications and Outreach Assist with the development and implementation of the Communications Plan in conjunction with the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and appropriate staff Communicate outreach and fundraising goals throughout the organization; provide support to staff and board to help reach them Write, edit, and produce monthly e-newsletter and distribute using Constant Contact Manage the social media presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat and other social media Develop, update, and maintain content for the Square Space-based website Develop, update, and Development Assist with the development and implementation of an annual $150,000 - $200,000 fundraising plan in collaboration with the Executive Director, external fundraising Consultant and Board of Directors; establish fundraising goals and track progress toward meeting goals Organize promotion and execution of fundraising and outreach events, managing project plan, timeline, vendors, volunteers and logistics; solicit corporate and in-kind donations; develop marketing materials Update and manage an annual development calendar Oversee donor stewardship plan; generate and implement strategies to keep donors connected and informed about the impact of their gifts Write and produce all donor mailings, including ongoing appeals and annual Impact Reports Working with external grant consultant: research and identify prospective foundation grant opportunities; Write 10-15 foundation and corporate grant proposals yearly; Write and submit grant reports Develop marketing collateral related to fundraising Collaborate with WIT staff to gather stories and information to include in donor appeals, grant applications, and reports Enter data in the donor database, write and send acknowledgment letters, and generate donor data and reports monthly General Attend monthly WIT Board, Development Committee, and Marketing Committee meetings as needed Some evening and weekend work is required for meetings and events management (2-3 times monthly)date, and coordinate the production of all marketing and outreach materials Provide regular coverage on domestic violence hotline (WIT's internal telephone counseling hotline and/or Philadelphia DV Hotline) and as needed Qualifications/Experience Strong written and verbal communications skills, with ability to craft communication style to deliver clear and persuasive messages to diverse audiences through various mediums; experience writing in multiple "voices" Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with staff, volunteers, and donors Strong editing skills and attention to detail Adept at social media platforms and technology Highly motivated, well-organized Understanding of the impact of domestic violence on individuals and the community preferred and ability to learn these impacts required Creativity and flexibility Positive attitude and enthusiasm Ability to work independently and serve as a key collaborative team member. Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience Prefer at least two years of experience in fundraising, development, marketing, or communications Requires the ability to carry materials for events over 10 pounds. Upon hiring, the candidate must complete the 45-hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training and provide I-9, Act 33, FBI, and Child Abuse Clearances.
