Overview Second Wind Fund (SWF) is a Colorado-based nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing suicide among children and youth by removing financial and social barriers to mental health treatment. Since 2002, SWF has connected more than 9,000 Colorado youth to life-saving therapy services and continues to expand access to care across the state. SWF is seeking a full-time Development and Communications Coordinator to support fundraising, communications, community engagement, and organizational visibility. This position plays an important role in helping SWF build meaningful relationships with donors, supporters, partners, and the broader community while advancing awareness of youth mental health and suicide prevention. This role will work closely with the Development and Communications Director and collaborate across departments, including the Program team, to support organizational goals, fundraising initiatives, storytelling efforts, and community outreach. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, relationship-oriented, and passionate about mission-driven work. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Denver, Colorado. Responsibilities Development & Donor Engagement Support fundraising activities and donor engagement efforts in partnership with the Development and Communications Director. Assist with donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgements, outreach, and relationship-building communications. Coordinate fundraising campaigns and community giving initiatives, including Colorado Gives Day, Mental Health Awareness Month, peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, and year-end appeals. Support planning and execution of fundraising and community events. Assist with sponsorship outreach, tracking, and stewardship activities. Maintain accurate donor and fundraising records within the organization's database (Zoho CRM). Assist with gift entry, reporting, and donor data management. Communications & Community Engagement Help create and manage content across SWF's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms. Develop engaging and mission-centered content including social media posts, graphics, newsletters, email communications, website updates, and storytelling materials. Support community outreach efforts and help represent SWF at community events, partner meetings, and public-facing opportunities. Assist in promoting organizational programs, campaigns, events, and impact stories in collaboration with the Program team. Help ensure consistent branding and messaging across communications platforms. Administrative & Team Support Provide coordination and administrative support for development and communications projects. Assist with tracking timelines, deliverables, and project progress across fundraising and communications initiatives. Support internal reporting and preparation of materials for grants, donor meetings, presentations, and Board engagement. Collaborate with staff across departments to help elevate program impact stories and organizational priorities. Other duties as assigned in support of SWF's mission and organizational growth. Qualifications Required Qualifications One to three years of experience in communications, marketing, fundraising, nonprofit operations, public relations, community engagement, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with a variety of audiences. Experience creating content for social media platforms and an understanding of social media engagement strategies. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with strong time management and follow-through skills. Comfortable representing an organization in public-facing and community settings. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small and mission-driven team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Canva, social media platforms, and CRM/database systems. Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a nonprofit organization. Experience with donor databases or CRM systems such as Zoho. Experience with email marketing platforms, website updates, or graphic design tools. Bachelor's degree in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, public relations, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Passion for youth mental health, suicide prevention, and community impact work. Benefits Full-time salaried position based in Denver, CO.
