Communications Specialist

The Legacy Foundation is hiring a part‑time Communications Specialist to manage communications and marketing for the Foundation and its programs, including Ottumwa Leadership Academy and Ottumwa Welcome & Connect Service. This position offers flexible hours , meaningful work, and the opportunity to support impactful community initiatives. Job Duties Write and manage content for websites, social media, newsletters, press releases, and other public communications Design graphics and marketing materials such as social media posts, infographics, brochures, posters, and presentations Create taglines, logos, and marketing strategies for new programs and projects Maintain consistent branding across all communications Track and analyze website and social media performance metrics Maintain and update Foundation and program websites Photograph program participants, events, and grantees Requirements Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience Experience using Canva and/or Adobe products Experience with website maintenance and social media platforms Strong writing, grammar, editing, and proofreading skills Application Instructions To be considered, applicants must submit: Resume Cover letter Work samples, including: One graphic design example One social media content example One website you have created or managed
