Role & Responsibilities We are seeking a Communications Systems Specialist to support a large-scale enterprise radio and operational communications environment. This role operates at the intersection of radio systems, networking, infrastructure, and end-user support, requiring hands-on ownership of communication platform reliability and active participation in ongoing deployment and expansion initiatives. Maintain and support enterprise repeater infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and operational reliability Configure, program, and support handheld and mobile communication devices across the enterprise environment Maintain and support enterprise dispatch console and communication management platforms Support and troubleshoot cloud-connected communication systems leveraging LTE, WiFi, private wireless, and push-to-talk technologies Program and deploy enterprise radio communication systems in a fast-paced operational environment Troubleshoot issues across RF systems, networking infrastructure, Windows operating systems, and firewall configurations Provide limited endpoint support for communication-related PC and Mac user issues Support structured installation and deployment processes including network configuration, asset tracking, and security procedures Assist with network troubleshooting related to enterprise communications and radio technologies Apply RF communication principles including spectrum coordination, trunking operations, interference mitigation, and access control Support IDF, MDF, and telecommunications room infrastructure standards Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and cross-functional technical teams to support deployments and ongoing operations Maintain documentation related to deployments, configurations, asset tracking, and operational procedures Essential Qualifications 2-4 years of hands-on experience supporting radio communications systems, repeater infrastructure, or dispatch environments Experience supporting IP-linked and trunked radio systems within enterprise or mission-critical environments Working knowledge of RF fundamentals and integration with IP-based network infrastructure Experience with enterprise communication management, dispatch, and radio administration tools Familiarity with push-to-talk over IP and cloud-enabled communication technologies Experience operating within regulated communications environments, including FCC-governed systems Strong troubleshooting capability across RF, networking, operating systems, and endpoint layers Working knowledge of Windows OS, networking fundamentals, DHCP, firewall rules, and basic switching/routing concepts Experience supporting structured deployment processes and technical documentation standards Experience coordinating with vendors, carriers, integrators, and third-party service providers Bonus Qualifications FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License or Amateur Radio License Experience supporting enterprise radio communication ecosystems and modern dispatch environments Background in public safety, telecommunications, utilities, transportation, manufacturing, or defense environments Experience supporting dispatch, security, or mission-critical communications operations Prior experience bridging field communications support with IT/networking responsibilities Experience coordinating deployments or leading small technical initiatives #IND-C Averro is a Veteran-Owned organization dedicated to delivering innovative talent solutions, business consulting, and technology services that propel businesses and careers forward.
