Focus on developing, implementing, and managing an effective and consistent communications operator training program and an adequate quality assurance program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Leads the Communication Unit in carrying out the Sheriff's Mission and Vision and ensures all staff adheres to the Office's core values; Trust, Service, Community ; Cultivates high morale and a Team culture within the Communications Unit; Ensures the services the Communications Unit offers are performed at a high-level and is customer-service oriented; Develops, implements, and monitors telecommunication operator training curriculums in accordance with Communication Unit operations, policies and standard operating procedures; Identifies, develops, evaluates, and retains a highly-qualified team of professional Communication Trainers; Establish performance measures and evaluate performance of trainees, trainers, and staff against those standards or measures; provide counseling, correction and encouragement to meet/exceed standards; Plan, coordinate and monitor the activities of Dispatch trainees. Make recommendations regarding successful completion of training and retention of trainees; Instruct, coordinate and monitor the work activities of the Dispatch trainers; Monitor the quality of service provided to internal and external customers by the Dispatch Division and ensure compliance with the various Department policies and procedures; Conduct reviews of service calls to measure protocol compliance and document areas for improvement to correct deficiencies. Review quality assurance records with employees and provide a recommended course of action for improvement when necessary. Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of current Dispatch programs and operations. Present recommendations for improvements in policies, procedures, and operations to Supervisors; Assist with discrepancies in CAD reporting; Assist with coordinating the recruitment process for new hires. Assist with interviews and conduct background investigations; Act as the Assistant Terminal Agency Coordinator. Responsible for management of training and certification requirements for NCIC/TCIC and CJIS. In the absence of the Communications Director, act as Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) between the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety in all matters involving TLETS and the NCIC/TCIC
crime information system; Required to work as an essential employee before, during, and after an emergency or disaster; Performs Dispatch and Lead Dispatch duties when needed as well as other duties as assigned by the Communications Director. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•High School graduate, GED or Equivalent; Minimum of three-years' experience in a Supervisory/Management role; An advanced degree in a relevant field; Or Additional relevant work experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above knowledge, abilities, and skills may be substituted in lieu of specific education requirements on a year for year basis; LICENSE & CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Texas Driver's License; TCOLE Telecommunications License TCOLE Advanced or Masters Telecommunication Operator Certificate.
