Communications Specialist Purpose:
Valkyrie Enterprises is hiring a Communications Specialist who will support the company's branding and communication functions, while assisting corporate and business operations with communication initiatives. This position will focus on executing communication efforts, maintaining brand consistency, and supporting messaging across the organization. The position is based in our Virginia Beach, VA corporate office with a flexible work environment.
Job Description:
Leads communication strategies to promote Valkyrie's mission and goals. Assist in maintaining and executing the Valkyrie Branding Campaign. Support the development and upkeep of company communication plans and materials. Partner with business development and business areas to support campaigns related to key messages, branding, and targeted opportunities. Draft and publish articles, news releases, and branding content to support internal and external communications. Coordinate with business development and operations to maintain marketing materials, including slip sheets, company briefs, capability briefs, and tradeshow materials. Provide support for trade shows, conferences, and events, including coordination of materials, logistics, and on-site assistance as needed. Assist in executing social media campaigns and maintaining content calendars. Ensure internal and external websites, as well as company social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, etc.), are updated and current. Help maintain consistency in messaging and branding across all communication platforms (social media, websites, SharePoint, etc.). Qualifications Must have a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. Must have a minimum of at least 2 years of experience in a communications, marketing, or related role. In lieu of experience will consider a Masters Degree. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must have experience supporting content creation and communication initiatives. Must have proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience supporting trade shows, conferences, or corporate events preferred. Relevant certifications in communications or public relations preferred.

Occasional travel - up to 10-15% If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
Work generally performed in an office setting but may require occasional visits to industrial or shipboard settings. Will normally require minor lifting and carrying of boxes of supplies/equipment.
