at University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont, United States Job Description Global Outreach Specialist Posting Summary Reporting to the Director of Policy and Partnerships, the Global Outreach Specialist will provide flexible project coordination, communications support, and relationship management for Gund Institute for Environment partnerships and projects at the state, national, and international levels. As a member of the Gund's global impact team, this position works across policy and communications and interacts with a full range of Gund Institute partners and collaborators from the private, public, and NGO sectors. Partnership Management Work with the Gund Policy and Partnerships Director to strengthen and seed the Gund Institute's network of relationships with new and existing internal and external partners Outreach and Communications Collaborate with researchers to translate complex scientific findings into accessible, engaging narratives for public, policy, and funder audiences, including policy briefs, newsletters, web, social media Project Coordination Support existing and new Gund projects with workplan execution, meeting facilitation, and documentation Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Bachelor's degree and two to four years of project management, communications, and/or policy experience (can include professional experience, graduate education, or internships). Effective communications skills including writing for non-academic audiences. Planning and organizational skills; attention to detail with a high level of accuracy; and ability to prioritize effectively. Desirable Qualifications Event planning and facilitation skills. Familiarity with academic settings and research institutions. Experience with government and/or private sector(s). Experience developing and executing multi-channel communications strategies. Proficiency with digital communications tools and platforms (e.g., social media, email marketing, content management systems, shooting and editing video). Demonstrated interest in environmental science.
