Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM; rotating
Saturdays Position Summary:
The Communication Specialist ensures timely, accurate, and professional communication between patients, staff, and care teams. This role includes managing calls, scheduling appointments, handling electronic communications, and supporting daily clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer and route incoming calls; take accurate messages Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems Process prescription requests and patient communications Monitor patient portal messages and assist with account setup Update and verify patient information Distribute faxes and track lab results and requests Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA Support workflow improvements and team communication
Work Environment:
Healthcare office setting with frequent patient interaction May require occasional weekends or overtime.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required 1-2 years of healthcare or administrative experience preferred Experience with EMR systems (e.g., Athenahealth) Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged sitting; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs Ability to operate standard office equipment
