Job Description

Position Summary:
This role pairs content generation with content production and delivery. At the center of a fast-moving newsroom, this position will shape what our audience sees, how they experience it, and why they come back. It is a blend of digital producing, reporting, and content strategy—providing the opportunity to create impactful journalism while directly influencing audience growth. You will be involved with writing breaking stories, building high-performing homepage experiences, and the use of real-time data to make smart content decisions. This role also plays a key part in our digital studio by helping produce video and visual content that connects across platforms. In addition, you will assist in delivering live and prerecorded videos to WHO 13 Plus App.
Position Responsibilities:
Own the Story Identify, report, and publish breaking news, daily coverage, and original stories that matter to a local audience Turn around fast, accurate content while also contributing to deeper, enterprise reporting Write headlines and teases that demand attention and drive clicks Drive Audience Growth Curate and package content to maximize engagement, page views, and time on site Shape the homepage and story presentation using real-time data and audience insights Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Chartbeat) to continuously refine strategy and improve performance Spot trends early and act quickly to capture audience interest Create for a Multi-Platform Audience Produce and publish content across web, mobile, and social platforms Contribute to video storytelling, including short-form and digital-first content Select and optimize visuals (photos, video, graphics) to elevate storytelling Collaborate & Lead Work closely with reporters, producers, and newsroom leadership to elevate content across platforms Help identify opportunities to extend broadcast stories into digital experiences—and vice versa Be a voice in daily editorial decisions, bringing a digital-first perspective Support Digital Studio Production/News production Assist with production and oversight of digital studio content Play an important role delivering live sports and events to our CTV App Help execute video shoots and ensure content meets quality and brand standards Learn to backup specialized newsroom studio production duties. This position will be involved as a backup role in the newsroom for some broadcast newsroom and master control duties (training provided for back up roles) Skill/ Experience Requirements 2+ years of experience in digital content, journalism, or a related field Experience with SEO, AP Style, and digital publishing tools Proficient writing ability and can write headlines that drive engagement Exhibits strong reporting skills Ability to maneuver quickly and accurately Strong technical experience or has experience with master control or newsroom operations Business analytical mindset Excels in multitasking and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Strong collaboration and communication skills Adaptability and is willing to learn new tools for evolving workflows and digital technology Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
