Full Job Description Job Summary Reports To:
Salon Manager / Ownership Compensation Starting at $800/month (1099 contractor / approximately $200 weekly equivalent) This role includes weekly content strategy, in-salon filming, editing, scheduling, daily posting across Instagram and TikTok, Facebook cross-posting, daily story management, and social media engagement. Position Summary The Social Media Manager & Content Creator is a key team member responsible for developing and executing Silkpress Express's digital content strategy while maintaining a polished, elevated, and on-brand online presence. This role is ideal for a creative, strategic, and highly organized individual who understands beauty branding, short-form video marketing, social media growth strategies, and audience engagement. The ideal candidate can independently plan content, present weekly strategy concepts for approval, execute in-salon content capture, edit short-form video content, schedule daily posts, manage social engagement, and maintain consistency across all platforms. This is a hybrid role requiring both in-salon content creation and remote content management. Key Responsibilities Content Strategy & Planning Develop weekly social media content strategies aligned with salon promotions, campaigns, seasonal initiatives, and business goals Create weekly content calendars and organized filming shot lists Present content plans for management approval prior to scheduling Identify relevant Instagram and TikTok trends that align with brand positioning Maintain consistency in tone, visual identity, and luxury beauty branding Content Creation & Production Attend scheduled in-salon filming sessions approximately 2-4 times monthly Capture before-and-after transformations Record service process footage Film product demonstrations Create educational haircare content Capture behind-the-scenes salon footage Film promotional campaign content Create trend-based short-form video content Capture client testimonials/reactions when appropriate Candidate must be comfortable filming in a busy salon environment around staff and clients. Equipment Expectations Must have reliable personal filming equipment OR experience operating professional camera equipment Salon-owned equipment may be available for in-salon use Salon equipment may not leave the premises Any footage captured must be properly transferred before departure DSLR/video equipment experience strongly preferred Editing & Post Production Edit short-form content for Instagram Reels and TikTok Add captions, branded overlays, transitions, and trending audio Repurpose footage into multiple pieces of content Optimize content formatting for platform performance Maintain polished and elevated brand presentation standards Social Media Management Manage daily Instagram posting Manage daily TikTok posting Cross-post applicable content to Facebook Manage daily Instagram stories Write captions and supporting post copy Schedule content in advance Monitor engagement performance Respond to comments and community engagement Adjust strategy based on performance trends Platform & Marketing Tools Preferred familiarity with: Instagram TikTok Facebook business tools CapCut Canva Adobe Premiere (or similar editing platforms) Go High Level (strongly preferred) Qualifications 2+ years of content creation, social media management, or digital marketing experience preferred Beauty, lifestyle, or service-based branding experience strongly preferred Strong short-form video editing skills Understanding of content strategy and engagement growth Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Highly creative while maintaining business professionalism Portfolio or previous work examples required Additional Requirements Local South Florida applicants only Must be available for scheduled in-salon filming days Must be comfortable working in an active salon environment Strong communication and collaboration skills required Reliable, deadline-driven, and self-motivated Important Role Clarification This position does NOT include: Front desk responsibilities Appointment booking/customer service management Handling client booking inquiries Automated systems are currently in place for booking workflows.
