San Diego, CA Job Details Contract 12 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications CSS Product roadmapping Merchandising Shopify Customer website behavior analysis HTML Full Job Description Help Us Improve Product Discovery and Increase Sales Balboa Manufacturing, home of the Bobster® and ZANheadgear® brands, is seeking an experienced Shopify E-Commerce Optimization Specialist to audit, optimize, and improve the customer shopping experience across our Shopify websites. This is not a website maintenance role. We are looking for a strategic Shopify expert who understands how customers search, browse, and buy online and can help us improve product discovery, site navigation, filtering, search functionality, and conversion rates. Project Objectives Improve customer product discovery Optimize search functionality and search relevance Develop a scalable product categorization and filtering strategy Improve navigation, collections, and merchandising structure Reduce friction in the customer journey Increase conversion rates and sales Responsibilities Conduct a comprehensive audit of our Shopify websites Evaluate current navigation, collections, tags, filters, and search functionality Recommend and implement improvements to product taxonomy and site architecture Optimize Shopify Search & Discovery settings Develop scalable collection and filtering strategies Improve search results relevance and customer experience Identify conversion optimization opportunities Recommend best practices for merchandising and product organization Create a prioritized roadmap for future improvements Implement approved enhancements Qualifications Proven experience optimizing Shopify stores for growth Strong understanding of Shopify Search & Discovery Experience with collections, tags, metafields, and filtering strategies Knowledge of conversion rate optimization (CRO) Understanding of SEO and product merchandising Familiarity with Shopify themes, Liquid, HTML, and CSS Experience analyzing customer behavior and site performance metrics Ability to think strategically while also executing improvements Preferred Experience Experience with multi-category product catalogs Consumer products, outdoor, motorcycle, powersports, workwear, or lifestyle brands Demonstrated examples of measurable improvements in conversion rates, search performance, or revenue growth To Apply Please provide: Resume or LinkedIn profile Portfolio of Shopify websites you have optimized Description of similar projects completed Examples of measurable results achieved (Include before-and-after metrics from prior projects) Hourly rate or project fee estimate Project Structure Contract position Flexible schedule Remote or hybrid Potential for ongoing consulting work based on results Our goal is simple: make it easier for customers to find the right products and buy them.
