We sit at the intersection of art, culture, and commerce, selling globally through Direct-to-Consumer channels and major wholesale partners including TJX (HomeGoods, HomeSense, Marshalls, TK Maxx, Winners) and Walmart. Role Summary The Manager, Live Commerce is a hybrid operator and on-camera talent, equal parts strategic team lead and active live seller. This is not a purely managerial role. The expectation is that the hire spends a minimum of 50% of their working hours actively selling on live streams, even when full team coverage is in place. Being on camera is a core performance function, not a fallback. The remaining 50% of the role is focused on building, managing, and scaling our live commerce team across TikTok Live and Instagram Live in both Canada and the United States, driving audience growth, GMV, conversion optimization, and creator and host development. Responsibilities Live Selling Performance (Minimum 50% Time) Host a minimum of 50% of all scheduled live sessions personally across TikTok Live and Instagram Live Drive direct revenue through on-camera product presentation, audience engagement, and real-time conversion tactics Maintain strong on-camera presence and brand voice consistent with Smard Art's identity and target audience Double up alongside team hosts during high-traffic and promotional streams to maximize peak-window GMV Team Leadership & Operations Recruit, onboard, train, and manage a team of live commerce hosts across Canada and the United States Build and maintain a cross-border live schedule that maximizes audience reach across time zones Develop scripts, product talk tracks, promotional hooks, and engagement playbooks for the team Monitor host KPIs including watch time, conversion rate, average order value, and viewer growth Coordinate with the marketing and creative teams on product launches, seasonal campaigns, and platform promotions Platform Growth & Strategy Own TikTok Shop and Instagram Live commerce metrics — GMV, live viewer count, follower growth, and repeat buyer rate Identify and test new live formats, product pairings, and promotional structures to improve performance Analyze platform analytics to optimize scheduling, product selection, and host assignments Stay current on TikTok and Instagram algorithm updates, live commerce trends, and competitive activity Report weekly GMV, session performance, and team output to the Head of Commerce Marketing Required Proven experience as a live commerce host or live selling professional on TikTok Live and/or Instagram Live Strong on-camera presence — confident, engaging, and able to drive real-time purchase behavior Experience managing or coordinating a team of hosts, creators, or sales associates Demonstrated ability to hit or exceed live sales targets (GMV-based) Deep familiarity with TikTok Shop mechanics, TikTok Live best practices, and Instagram Live commerce tools Based in or willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA Strongly Preferred Experience in the art, home decor, or lifestyle product categories — Smard Art's core product lines Prior cross-border or bi-national operations experience (Canada + United States) Existing TikTok following or track record of audience growth through live content Familiarity with Black consumer culture and marketing to Black women 18-35 Experience collaborating with paid media and influencer/creator teams Application requirement All candidates must submit a 60 to 90 second self-recorded video introduction covering their experience and why they are the best fit for this role.
