Salina, KS Role Summary ReUseIt Salina is not your typical warehouse, we are a modern, digital-first e-commerce operation. The Intake Specialist is a vital team member responsible for managing the digital lifecycle of our unique inventory. In this role, you will ensure that incoming items (such as cabinets, appliances, and furniture) are accurately measured, weighed, photographed, and listed immediately on our WIX-based website and third-party platforms. Key Responsibilities Digital Cataloging (WIX): Manage the organization's e-commerce presence by creating accurate, compelling product listings. Ensure all listings include precise measurements, material types, and detailed condition reports.
AI Integration:
Leverage cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence tools to assist in item identification, pricing strategy, weight estimation, functional evaluation, and product description generation.
Photography & Staging:
Stage and capture high-quality, appealing photographs of large and small inventory to maximize online sales potential.
Data & Metrics Tracking:
Strictly adhere to our sustainability mission by accurately recording the weight of every listed item to track and report our "Landfill Diversion" statistics.
Multitasking & Workflow Management:
Efficiently maneuver through multiple digital applications simultaneously to maintain a smooth, fast-paced intake pipeline.
Qualifications Note:
This is an advanced, non-entry-level position requiring high computer literacy and technical expertise.
Preferred Background:
Education:
Associate's degree or professional certification in an information technology, digital media, or technology-related field and/or demonstrated computer literacy in areas of Mac OS & iOS.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of recent, relevant professional experience in e-commerce, digital cataloging, or a related field.
Tech Savviness:
Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with the WIX website builder, standard e-commerce platforms, and advanced keyboarding skills.
AI Familiarity:
Hands-on experience utilizing Artificial Intelligence tools for data generation or workflow optimization.
Detail-Oriented:
Exceptional accuracy in measuring and inspecting complex items (e.g., cabinets, windows, and building materials).
Visual Skills:
Proven ability to take clear, well-lit, and commercially appealing photographs of merchandise. Team Environment We are hiring individuals who understand the necessity and value of working in teams. Even though it is expected that you will be working in your own lane at least 80% of the time , when a big donation comes in, we all head to the staging area and help receive the merchandise. When our cashier needs a break, you might be asked to fill in at the cash register. This is how we function effectively with a tight-knit staff of 6 to 8 people and 3 to 6 volunteers. About ReUseIt Salina We are an innovative, newly founded non-profit organization located in Salina, KS. Modeled after the successful Habitat for Humanity ReStore concept, our mission is to divert usable construction materials and home goods from the local landfill—repurposing them for home remodeling, rental repairs, and property improvements. Operating out of a 12,000-square-foot facility, we utilize a "digital-first" thrift model, listing items for online sale immediately upon intake. Founded by Phil Black and Gary Norris, who continue to provide strategic guidance, ReUseIt Salina recently celebrated its physical retail Grand Opening on June 6, 2026.
