ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring an E-Commerce Catalog & Inventory Specialist in Charlotte to help keep our product catalog, inventory data, and e-commerce operations accurate, organized, and customer-ready. This role is perfect for someone who likes details, systems, product data, inventory accuracy, and the satisfaction of fixing problems before they become customer issues. You will work hands-on with purchase orders, receiving, SKU and variant mapping, product detail pages, data cleanup, issue tracking, and weekly reporting. This is not a warehouse-only role and is not a purely administrative role. It sits right in the middle of inventory, e-commerce, catalog accuracy, and operational follow-through. We also use a structured 90-day proficiency path. You will start with inventory fundamentals, ramp into product linking and PDP/catalog audits, and grow into pricing stewardship and weekly reporting. Each pay increase is tied to clear proficiency gates, so you will know exactly what success looks like.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Inventory Accuracy & Receiving Process incoming purchase orders and verify received quantities against POs. Use analytics to place replenishment orders with a 30-day forward view by product. Reconcile discrepancies with vendors, warehouse partners, and internal stakeholders. Identify expired or defective products and initiate vendor credit requests or exchange reconciliation. Maintain accurate on-hand counts, item locations, and inventory records through cycle counts, spot checks, and follow-up. Investigate mismatched SKUs, UPCs, duplicate records, broken variant mappings, and sync issues. Document corrections clearly so the team understands what happened, what changed, and what still needs attention. Identify products that are not moving and proactively request vendor credits or exchanges to clear slow inventory. Catalog, PDP & Product Data Support When receiving new or updated products, identify new formulas and update PDPs as needed — descriptions, categories, images, and SKU assignments. Support product detail page (PDP) creation, including titles, descriptions, images, variants, categories, tags, and required product details. Audit existing product pages for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and customer readiness. Confirm PDPs are mapped to the correct SKU, variant structure, and inventory rules. Review product pages before publish for missing fields, broken links, incorrect variants, inconsistent information, and mobile-view issues.
Deactivate discontinued products:
request URL redirections, set PDPs to hidden, and ensure clean catalog hygiene. Recommend better templates, naming standards, checklists, or workflows when recurring catalog issues appear. Systems, Data Hygiene & Issue Tracking Keep product and inventory information clean across e-commerce and back-office systems. Maintain a clear issue tracker showing root cause, action taken, ownership, and escalation needs. Use spreadsheets and system reports to identify inventory, catalog, and data issues before they create downstream problems. Partner with warehouse, customer service, and operations to reduce errors caused by bad data, wrong SKUs, wrong variants, or incorrect pricing. Pricing & Reporting Support pricing review using direction, margin inputs, and positioning guidance from leadership. Flag products where margin does not support continued distribution.
Maintain a controlled pricing process:
no pricing change goes live without prior written approval. Provide a weekly summary of inventory issues, PDP fixes, pricing recommendations, trends, blockers, and wins.
WHAT YOU BRING
2+ years of experience in e-commerce operations, inventory management, catalog/PDP support, retail operations, warehouse administration, or a closely related role. Hands-on familiarity with purchase orders, receiving, cycle counts, inventory records, and discrepancy follow-up. Working knowledge of SKU, UPC, product, and variant relationships in an e-commerce or product-based environment. Strong attention to detail and a true documentation habit. If you fix it, you record what changed and why. Comfort working in spreadsheets, shared drives, e-commerce tools, inventory systems, and back-office platforms. Clear, proactive communication style. You escalate issues early instead of waiting for them to become customer problems. Ability to work cross-functionally with warehouse, customer service, operations, merchandising, and leadership without finger-pointing. Ability to work full-time, on-site in Charlotte, NC.
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, Fishbowl, ShipStation, ERP, CRM, inventory/order management tools, or similar systems. Background in CBD, hemp, cannabis-adjacent, regulated consumer goods, wellness, specialty retail, or CPG. Exposure to pricing operations, change-request workflows, merchandising support, or catalog QA. Bilingual skills are a plus.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE HERE
You are accurate, organized, and calm when details get messy. You like solving root-cause issues, not just patching the same problem over and over. You understand that clean product data directly impacts customer experience, inventory accuracy, and sales. You ask questions before making risky changes and document decisions as you go. You are comfortable switching between computer-based work, inventory support, and team communication. You take ownership and follow through without needing to be chased.
