Job Description

Fraud Prevention Assistant Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our Fraud Prevention team for our May 1st - August 30th, peak season (candidates must be able to commit to the entire season). This position is 30-40 hours per week, working daytime hours Monday-Friday on-site at our headquarters in Hillsborough, NC with the opportunity to move to hybrid work from home schedule after an initial onboarding and training period. In addition to exceptional customer service and analytical skills, you must exercise sound judgment, demonstrate integrity in decision-making and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Job Purpose:
As a member of the Fraud Prevention Team, you will play a critical role in protecting our customers and business from fraudulent activity. This position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing e-commerce transactions, identifying potential fraud risks, and ensuring legitimate orders are processed efficiently.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and decision orders that are held for fraudulent transaction screening using company fraud management systems and tools Review and analyze online order data to assess risk and determine transaction validity Identify suspicious patterns, behaviors, and anomalies using internal tools and established guidelines Contact customers via phone and email to verify orders and resolve payment-related issues Support collection efforts by following up on declined payments, chargebacks, and disputed transactions
Qualifications and Competencies:
Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills Ability to operate independently in fast-paced environment Comfortable making judgment calls based on available data and guidelines Ability to handle sensitive customer situations with professionalism and empathy Experience with customer service computer systems, spreadsheets, and web-based systems High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs Minimum 1 year of experience in E-commerce, customer service, or payments industry
