The Portfolio Management Specialist, Sampling is responsible for supporting efficient and strategic fulfillment of customer sampling requests through effective utilization of the existing flavor portfolio. This role serves as a key operational partner to Sales, Applications, Product Management, and R D by reviewing customer requests, identifying the best-fit flavor samples from the portfolio, coordinating fulfillment activities, and helping improve overall sampling alignment and execution. Specific Tasks include but are not limited to: Portfolio Sampling & Request Fulfillment
  • Own day-to-day coordination and fulfillment support for tier 2 customer sampling requests submitted by Sales.
  • Review incoming requests for completeness, application fit, and alignment with existing portfolio capabilities based on customer classification, strategic importance, and internal capability alignment.
  • Utilize SAP and other digital tools to ensure timely and accurate execution of customer sample requests.
  • Select and recommend the most appropriate flavor sample(s) from the existing portfolio based on customer needs and application requirements.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Applications, Product Management, R D, Customer Support, and Logistics to ensure timely sample execution and delivery.
  • Support prioritization of requests based on customer classification, strategic importance, and internal capacity alignment.
  • Maintain organized records and tracking tools related to sample requests and portfolio utilization.
  • Maintain visibility into sampling priorities, turnaround times, and workflow bottlenecks. Portfolio Knowledge & Support
  • Develop and maintain strong familiarity with the Silesia flavor portfolio across key categories and applications spanning confectionery, bakery, beverage, dairy and savory.
  • Support identification of portfolio gaps, duplicate offerings, and opportunities for improved portfolio utilization.
  • Assist with preparation of portfolio-related materials, sample summaries, and tracking reports as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to sampling workflows and portfolio visibility. Sensory & Food Safety Responsibilities
  • Creative ability to taste, smell, and describe food and participate in all required sensory panels and training.
  • Work in accordance with approved Silesia quality standards and Food Safety requirements such as Good Manufacturing Practices and allergen handling protocols.
In addition to the preceding assignments, the incumbent is obligated to carry out individual tasks that, in essence, belong to his/her duties or where this is dictated by company needs. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is an active role. This would require the ability to lift up to 40 lbs., bending, squatting, standing on a stool and working in a standing position. Ability and willingness to taste, smell and consume a wide variety of foods and beverages, including alcoholic beverages. Travel Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Some of the travel may be international.
Required Education and Experiences:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science (strongly preferred), Marketing, Business, or related field. 2-5 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, product development/applications, or a related cross-functional role within flavor, ingredients, food, beverage, or related B2B environments. Experience supporting sample management, customer request coordination, or portfolio-related activities preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
