We are a Reform, URJ affiliated synagogue with a rich 35+ year history. We serve as the hub for Egalitarian Jewish life in Parkland, Coral Springs, Margate, Coconut Creek and beyond. We pride ourselves on our commitment to our community and living our Jewish values. We are seeking a Program and Communications Associate. This is a new, full-time position to our team, and will provide critical support for our ongoing synagogue operations. We are seeking a team player who is a friendly, creative self-starter. The ideal candidate has prior experience in developing and executing programs, experience with social media, marketing and communications, and is comfortable collaborating with both professional staff and lay leaders/volunteers.
Job Duties and Descriptions:
Programming and Programmatic Support (40%): Serve as a support person for our auxiliaries and their hosted activities, ensuring optimal execution. Work with our Executive Director to coordinate our congregational calendar Communications (40%) Develop congregational communications to members, and the community at large, including weekly blasts, newsletters, press releases and more. Assist with collateral and flyer creation, graphic design efforts, etc. Develop, coordinate and execute a social media strategy for our congregation Administrative Support (20%) Serve as administrative support for our Rabbi and Cantor, including calendar coordination, etc Maintain yarzheit lists, mishebarach lists, birthday lists, etc on a weekly basis. Work with administrative team on congregation wide events and congregational needs as they arise. While our congregational office hours are 9a-5p Mon-Thurs and 9a-4p on Fridays, there is an expectation within this role to be present for events and programming on nights and weekends, and your schedule will be flexible as such. This is a full time position, with an expected workload of 35-40 hours per week. These duties may not be all inclusive but contain the primary context of what our goals are for this position. KEY QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
Personality
  • the ideal candidate must be energetic, outgoing and have strong interpersonal skills. Being a self-starter is a must, and the ideal candidate comes with a natural, proactive disposition. Project Management
  • the ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple responsibilities at once, prioritizing and triaging as appropriate. Technological Proficiency
  • the ideal candidate can easily navigate social platforms, technology, etc. Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or a similar program is necessary. Familiarity with Shulcloud, wordpress and video editing (reels, shorts, etc) are a plus. Program Development and Execution
  • the ideal candidate has a proven track record of designing and executing engaging and meaningful programs for a variety of target audiences. Understanding of Jewish rituals, lifecycle events, etc. Teamwork
  • the ideal candidate works well with both professionals and lay leaders. Education
  • College degree preferred Prior experience
  • 1-3 years in a professional capacity as a program professional, event coordinator, marketing professional or similar role (including work within a college organization).
Prior experience within the Jewish community as a professional, volunteer or participant is preferred.
COMPENSATION
Salary will be commensurate with experience, with our budget allowing for an annual compensation of $40,000
