Location:
Campus, ILLINOIS Summary The Marketing and Events Assistant position will support all marketing efforts in the Office of Student Housing during the academic years. The incumbent will help develop content and assist with the design of promotional materials, website copy and will help maintain the social media accounts for the Office of Student Housing. This position also manages the office in-person tabling event calendar, prepares all necessary materials for Preview day events and will represent the office when needed.Career Readiness Competencies:
Communication Critical Thinking Professionalism Teamwork Essential Functions Assist the Marketing Strategist with marketing and event projects Writing copy for social material, event materials and the website Collects, coordinates and prepares data for marketing projects Maintains office documents and marketing copy Update copy on the Student Housing website Assist with management of Student Housing social media accounts Manage the Student Housing event calendar, helps the office prepare for events and represents the office at on-campus events Minimum Qualifications Must be a full-time, enrolled undergraduate student. (At least 12 credit hours) Completed at least one full academic year at BGSU Currently studying Marketing, Communication, or another related field at an undergraduate level Must have, and maintain, a 2.5 term and cumulative GPA Available to work at least 16, but no more than 20 hours per week Cannot currently be on Residence Life Employment Probation, Resident or University Student Conduct Probation or Academic Probation Additional Information Desired Skills Sound understanding of marketing principles Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Personable, presentable and articulate Manage multiple projects in fast paced office setting The ability to think ahead and anticipate next steps in a project Self-starter who has the ability to work independently and in group settings Computer proficient with Microsoft Office, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite Previous experience working on websites or the eagerness to learn Required availability: This will be a summer job, must be available May through Aug.
