Job Description
Rockford University is seeking a creative, organized, and customer-focused Marketing & Administrative Assistant to support the College of Arts & Humanities. This position serves as the primary coordinator for marketing, communications, box office operations, and administrative support while promoting theatre productions, gallery exhibits, lectures, and other college-sponsored events.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating marketing campaigns, social media, and promotional materials for college events and programs. Managing box office operations, ticket sales, patron services, and audience records. Supervising student employees and supporting event operations. Providing administrative support to the Dean, faculty, and staff. Assisting with gallery administration, theatrical licensing, and other college initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Arts Administration, or a related field. Two to four years of experience in marketing, communications, event management, customer service, office administration, or a related area. Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience managing social media and creating promotional content. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with diverse constituencies. Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education, arts administration, performing arts, museums, galleries, or event venues. Experience with ticketing systems, box office operations, event planning, or supervising student employees. This position is ideal for a creative professional who enjoys marketing, event promotion, customer engagement, and supporting the arts in a collaborative academic environment.
