We are committed to creating impactful programs that foster growth, empowerment, and community engagement. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Marketing Associate to join our team! In this role, you will play a vital part in developing and executing marketing strategies that promotes the organization's mission, programs, services, events, advocacy initiatives, and community impact. The position plays a key role in increasing community awareness, strengthening El Centro's brand, and sharing stories that reflect the experiences and achievements of the Latino communities we serve. Duties Develop, manage, and maintain El Centro's social media presence through a comprehensive content calendar, regular posting, audience engagement, and promotion of programs, services, events, advocacy efforts, community impact, and community partners. Create engaging and culturally relevant content, including graphics, videos, photography, flyers, testimonials, and written stories for use across digital, print, and multimedia platforms that strengthen awareness of El Centro's mission and impact. Design, produce, and distribute marketing, branding, and promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, signage, presentations, newsletters, annual reports, fundraising appeals, and other organizational communications while ensuring consistency with El Centro's brand standards, messaging, and visual identity across all platforms. Assist with website updates, content management, and other communication platforms to ensure information remains accurate, current, accessible, and engaging. Support marketing, fundraising, advocacy, and community awareness campaigns through content development, storytelling, promotion, timeline management, and implementation strategies. Collaborate with program staff, leadership, community partners, vendors, and media representatives to identify communication needs, develop marketing strategies, and strengthen public awareness of El Centro's programs, services, and community impact. Maintain organized digital archives of photos, videos, marketing materials, and communications assets while tracking communications and social media performance metrics to support continuous improvement and strategic decision-making. Support and contribute to a workplace that aspires to become culturally competent by fostering sensitivity, openness, and respect for people regardless of differences. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Community Engagement and/or members of the Leadership Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong storytelling and content development abilities. Experience creating content for social media and digital platforms. Proficiency in graphic design and content creation software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms preferred). Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Photography and videography experience preferred. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products and cloud-based collaboration tools. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Deep understanding of Latino culture, cultural humility, and the ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred. Two to five years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, or content creation. Experience working in the nonprofit sector preferred. Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital marketing campaigns preferred.
Required:
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, including the ability to speak, read, and write fluently in both languages.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to create culturally relevant content that accurately reflects and positively represents the Latino, Spanish-speaking, immigrant, and diverse communities served by El Centro. Strong understanding of Latino culture, cultural humility, and the ability to communicate effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Ability to work in-person at El Centro's administrative office during regular business hours, with flexibility to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings, events, and community activities. Reliable transportation for attending organizational events, community activities, and meetings throughout El Centro's service area.
