Job Description

Career and Marketing Assistant Do you have a passion for helping people launch successful careers? Are you a natural at building relationships and connecting with others? If so, you could be our next Career and Marketing Assistant . In this multifaceted role, you'll be the crucial link between our talented graduates and the employers looking for their skills. You'll manage the entire placement process, from initial career counseling to long-term follow-ups, ensuring our students not only find jobs but thrive in them. This isn't just a desk job. You'll be a vital part of our students' journey to success. You'll work closely with the Director of Marketing / Placement Director to tackle a variety of tasks, from promoting our school's vibrant community to ensuring our graduates find the perfect job. Location, Hours, and Training This position will be based at our Bellport campus . Your regular schedule will be Monday & Tuesday from 11 am. to 7:30pm, Wednesday & Thursday from 9 am to 5pm with Fridays from 11 am to 6 pm. However, the first three months of your employment will involve comprehensive training at our Copiague location . The specific hours for the training period will be discussed during your interview. After the initial training, you'll be required to travel to the Copiague campus as needed for meetings or special events. Transportation Requirement This position requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. The successful candidate must be willing to travel between the Bellport and Copiague campuses as needed. Duties may also include traveling locally to obtain citations and official recognitions from Assembly Members, State Senators, and other government offices for school events and graduation ceremonies.
Key Responsibilities Career Placement:
Act as the primary liaison between students, alumni, and potential employers. This includes career counseling, resume updates, and extensive networking to generate new employment leads through cold calls and other outreach efforts.
Student Support:
Guide students through the job search process, provide placement assistance, and conduct follow-up calls to ensure successful employment. You'll also assist with graduation events and open houses.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date student and employer databases. You'll handle data entry, manage files, and assist with any regulatory audits.
Marketing Support:
Help our Marketing Director promote student engagement by capturing photos at school events, reviewing marketing materials for accuracy, and posting content on our social media platforms. Qualifications Proven experience in a customer service or similar administrative role. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. A resourceful, proactive, and detail-oriented individual who can multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. A professional demeanor and a team-oriented mindset. Proficiency in resume writing and a solid understanding of career services is a plus.
