Job Description

The Marketing Assistant will support both the Marketing and Sales teams across a diverse portfolio of brands. This hands-on position assists with the day-to-day execution of marketing and sales initiatives, printing and shipping, event coordination, program execution, printer maintenance, and ordering supplies. The Marketing Assistant will manage multiple priorities while supporting a wide variety of brands and initiatives, helping ensure marketing programs are executed efficiently and sales teams have the tools they need.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to: Work with Sales Team & VP of Marketing to prepare sell sheets, price lists, shelf tags and other sales support tools monthly Assist with the activation and recaps of on and off premise programs (i.e., Marketing Driven Sampling Programs) Track, coordinate, and submit competition entries for all brands Coordinate sample shipments for potential media placements, donations, etc. Assist with sourcing and managing new point of sale orders Assist in fielding marketing related calls and correspondence including, but not limited to: Sponsorships Advertising Consumer Requests Oversee printer maintenance and supply orders Must have valid driver license and reliable transportation to occasionally pick up and/or deliver materials in the Columbia Gorge/Portland area. Assist with event coordination along with potential for on-site execution of staffing table/booth at events located in the Columbia Gorge/Portland area. Performs other tasks and duties and special projects as assigned Ability to be a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment TRAVEL Occasional day travel in Columbia Gorge/Portland area for select events.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. College coursework or degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in marketing, events, customer service, administrative support, or a related field preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents. Ability to communicate effectively with management, customers and employees. Ability to give and take direction necessary for effective performance of the job.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, scaling, circumference, symmetry and positive and negative space. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and calculus.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint. Experience in general graphic design, with the capability of working within Squarespace, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, etc.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply common sense. Ability to multitask and prioritize.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment with the expectation of working independently as well as in a group and/or collaborative setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and printers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the position is frequently sedentary that primarily involves sitting and standing; alternate sitting or standing at will; keyboarding; talking and hearing. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; push, pull; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; viewing a computer screen for long period of time.

This is a part-time, hourly position, based in Hood River, Oregon. This is an in-office position, estimated at 25 hours per week. Typical business days of work are Monday - Friday.
