Office/Some remote after 90 days SUMMARY :
The Community Engagement and Marketing Assistant will support the agency's community presence through marketing, branding, social media engagement, outreach activities, and community events. This position will help promote awareness of the agency's programs and services while supporting development and fundraising activities as needed. The Community Engagement and Marketing Assistant will assist with the coordination of agency events, community outreach efforts, and public relations activities that strengthen community connections and increase visibility of the agency's mission and impact. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Assist with the development and distribution of marketing and promotional materials. Support agency branding and ensure consistency in public-facing communications. Attend, coordinate, and represent the agency at community outreach events, tabling opportunities, and local networking activities. Assist with the planning and coordination of agency-sponsored community events and activities. Support fundraising and development efforts through event assistance, donor communications, and promotional activities. Assist with photography, content gathering, and storytelling for agency communications and social media. Support and assist in the maintenance of the agency's social media presence across platforms (i.e. TikTok). Help maintain the agency website and community event calendars as assigned. Coordinate public relations and community awareness activities: including an annual public relations plan that is regularly updated. Assist staff with presentations, outreach materials, and community engagement efforts. Assist with preparation of the agency annual report and other communication materials. Maintain organized records of marketing materials, outreach contacts, and event participation. Actively participate in the agency Communications Committee and in other agency meetings/professional development activities. Develop, lead, and enact, with support of supervisor, a Marketing and Communication Plan, updated annually to support agency strategic plan. Perform other related duties as assigned. OTHER DUTIES
Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives as assigned. Participate in agency risk management and performance quality improvement activities. Complete any special projects as assigned by the supervisor. Perform all responsibilities with a positive attitude, promoting congeniality in the workplace by working with others. Perform incidental business-related travel as necessitated by position. Must have access to reliable transportation. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Part-time position for approximately 15-20 hours per week. Hourly Pay Rates In accordance with Illinois state law, we are committed to transparency in compensation. The hourly pay range for this position is $21 to $30, depending on experience and qualifications. TRAVEL This position requires some travel mostly within Kane County with some additional travel outside of that area. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in related field required. Prior related experience preferred. Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience in marketing, communications, social media management, public relations, or community engagement preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable interacting with community members, organizations, and partners. Experience creating social media and marketing content preferred. Specialization/strong knowledge of TikTok is a plus. Basic graphic design and content creation skills are desirable. Basic PC literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms. Knowledge of the communities served by the agency is an asset. Organized, motivated, creative, and self-directed. Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events.
