Job Description

Established nearly two centuries ago, FM is a leading mutual insurance company whose capital, scientific research capability and engineering expertise are solely dedicated to property risk management and the resilience of its policyholder-owners. These owners, who share the belief that the majority of property loss is preventable, represent many of the world's largest organizations, including one of every four Fortune 500 companies. They work with FM to better understand the hazards that can impact their business continuity to make cost-effective risk management decisions, combining property loss prevention with insurance protection. FM is hiring a Sports Sponsorship Intern to join our team full-time for Summer 2026! This is a great opportunity for students who are motivated to apply their classroom experience, professional attitude and personal ambition. Through FM's Sports Sponsorship Internship program, you will gain real-world experience in a sponsorship and marketing environment. Students work with the Sports Sponsorship team to assist with activations and high touch client experiences. FM's current sponsorship portfolio includes The LPGA Tour, Boston Common Golf and player ambassadors Rory McIlroy, Megan Khang and Lottie Woad.
Schedule & Location:
This is an in-office based position that will require you to be on-site at our corporate headquarters in Johnston, RI, which is part of the greater Providence area. With a large college-age population, Providence offers a vibrant arts and entertainment scene that includes local theatre and music, collegiate and minor league sporting events, great restaurants - and we're not far from the beautiful RI beaches! The internship length is flexible, running between 10-12 weeks between May through August 31, 2025. The Sports Sponsorship Intern must be able to work 37.5 hours per week. Potential opportunity for part time work throughout the school year but this remains to be determined with the leadership team. The Sports Sponsorship Intern may be eligible for college credit for this internship, depending on their university and curriculum requirements.
Responsibilities:
Assist in execution of sponsorship activation plans including brand, digital/social strategy, client experience, paid/earned amplification and internal comms Track client attendance at key events and provide reporting and analysis Help support athlete and property activation plans Assist with the maintenance of the Sports Sponsorship intranet home page Research competitive landscape to understand trends and investments in the sponsorship space Provide support for special projects and business units as needed Provide communications and event planning Completing administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications Required Education:
Entering junior or senior year and enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in marketing, public relations, journalism, English or communications Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
Required Skills:
Be motivated, dedicated, organized, reliable and ready to work in a professional environment Have top-notch writing and interpersonal skills Have an ability to work independently and/or with others Microsoft Suite skills (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint in particular) FM is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse workforce.
