Job Description

We are looking for a Marketing Assistant to support a mission-driven non-profit organization in North Charleston, South Carolina. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing creative communication, community outreach, and day-to-day marketing coordination in a fast-paced environment. The person in this role will help strengthen public awareness through engaging content, digital updates, event support, and neighborhood-focused engagement efforts. This position offers the chance to contribute to meaningful initiatives while helping maintain a consistent and cohesive brand presence across multiple channels.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the execution of marketing and communication initiatives by helping organize campaigns, outreach activities, and promotional plans.
  • Create, review, and refine written materials such as marketing collateral, public-facing content, and internal communication pieces to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Coordinate community and small business outreach efforts tied to corridor-based public initiatives, tracking progress and helping manage related projects.
  • Arrange logistics for photo and video sessions, including scheduling, coordination with participants, and preparation for successful production days.
  • Maintain website content by updating page layouts, posting timely information, and helping keep digital materials accurate and current.
  • Assist with social media activity by preparing content, supporting campaign rollouts, and engaging with online audiences in an effective manner.
  • Help organize public-facing events such as press activities, meetings, tours, exhibits, and stakeholder appearances while ensuring materials and details are in place.
  • Capture and document the organization's participation in conferences, events, and speaking engagements for promotional and reporting purposes.
  • Prepare summaries and recap materials that outline outreach efforts, community engagement results, and related marketing activities.
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the Marketing Department as new services, existing programs, and targeted initiatives are promoted.
