Job Description

Job Summary:
Our Sales & Marketing Manager's goals are to build brand awareness and sales, facilitate execution of catering order's and follow up with clients to ensure residual business and long term growth. This is accomplished through creative marketing, sampling, leading by example, and always maintaining focus on growing the Jimmy John's brand. It's your job to champion the brand through relationships with current a future business. Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record with 2 years of driving experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify and understand each store's delivery area and radius. This is your target audience, you must know all delivery areas for each store
  • Maintain and update local sampling sheet and ensure store level marketers are using them daily as a tool for guidance and efficiency
  • Uses the grid system for sampling and completing one grid at a time before moving to the next.
  • Uses perfect methods of preparing, wrapping, delivering and executing PERFECT samples
  • Set up and execute meetings with potential catering clients while completing a minimum of one sales call per week
  • Execute both morning and afternoon sampling as frequently as possible
  • Must have complete knowledge of the catering menu including but not limited to pricing, quantity of food, cost, and comparative pricing.
  • Help with store operations when needed to execute large catering orders.
  • Follow up with GM's on catering orders to verify 100% execution. If errors were made, make it right immediately
  • Follow up with all catering customers you meet to ensure they are 100% pleased with our services
  • Develop methods of showing customers that we truly care about their business and show them how much we appreciate them. (I.e. sending flowers to receptionists and sending thank you letters for large or repeat orders)
  • Take daily notes on where you sample and include wins and issues you encounter for the day. Email should be sent to Director of Operations as well as the Area manager and the store's General Manager which you are marketing for.
  • Lead by example and help each store execute a flawless lunch shift during the hours of 11-1. This is your main focus during this time. No phones or emails are to be sent during the time frame as your main focus is serving the customers.
  • Must create and manage a calendar of events for the year with major sampling opportunities including but not limited to conventions, visiting athletic teams, shows and performances, holidays, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Positon requires bending, reaching, stooping, climbing, repetitive motions, cognitive skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation, and must be up-to-date with auto insurance and have a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to complete a minimum schedule of Mon-Fri 8:30am - 5pm with a half hour break for lunch.
  • Must have a strong work ethic, ability to lead by example, have integrity in your work and be self-sufficient and self-motivated in an autonomous work environment.
Special Requirements:
  • Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as business dictates.
  • Must have a clean driving record and have been licensed for more than 18 months
  • Must be willing to complete management certification as deemed fit.
  • Must be maniacal about Jimmy John's and representing the brand.
  • Must be articulate and well groomed.

  • Must be a good listener
  • Must be willing to ask open ended questions, and comfortable delivering a "sales pitch."
  • Must be able to mirror you prospective customer's personalities on each sampling occasion. Not every customer is going to be in the mood to talk to you and you must be able to roll with the punches.
  • Must be mature, well organized and able to professionally handle the autonomy associated with this job.
  • Must be fun and outgoing.
  • Must keep personal calls, emails, relationships, and pretty much everything not related to work out of the workplace at all times when on the clock.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the market which we serve and the events that are taking place.
  • Position requires a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Gmail.
