Job Description

Consider before submitting an application: This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue through fall term (ending approximately December 2026) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2027 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students:
If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year. This MBA internship offers hands-on experience in market intelligence and customer research. The intern will support strategic decision-making by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data on markets, competitors, industry trends, and customer behaviors. You will contribute actionable insights that inform product development, marketing strategies, go-to-market plans, and business growth initiatives in a dynamic business environment. This role suits students passionate about data-driven strategy, customer-centric thinking, and translating research into business impact. Strong candidates demonstrate intellectual curiosity, rigor in analysis, and clear communication of insights. Conduct secondary market research, including competitor analysis, industry benchmarking, market sizing, trend monitoring, and opportunity identification using sources like industry reports, databases (e.g., Crunchbase, Statista), news, and public data Support primary customer research by assisting in the design, execution, and analysis of surveys, interviews, focus groups, and customer journey mapping to uncover preferences, pain points, unmet needs, and segmentation opportunities Develop and refine customer personas (ICPs), journey maps, and behavioral insights from quantitative (e.g., CRM data, survey results) and qualitative data Analyze data using tools such as Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, charts), data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI), or survey tools (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey) to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and strategic implications Synthesize findings into clear reports, dashboards, presentations, and recommendations; present insights to cross-functional teams (marketing, product, sales, leadership) and support storytelling with data Monitor market intelligence feeds, competitive activities, and emerging trends; contribute to regular intelligence briefings or alerts Collaborate on ad-hoc projects, such as validating growth opportunities, supporting messaging/positioning development, or mapping use cases to market needs. Maintain organized research documentation and ensure data integrity and compliance with research ethics/privacy standards Currently pursuing a master's degree in business (or equivalent graduate business) program Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated experience with data analysis and interpretation Familiarity with market research methodologies (primary/secondary research, qualitative/quantitative approaches) and customer insights best practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with data visualization or survey platforms is highly desirable Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable, stakeholder-friendly formats Self-starter with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting Benefits As a full-time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans.
