Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Marketing Director will drive growth for Technology Credit Union (Tech CU) by developing and executing data driven integrated marketing strategies focusing on member acquisition, retention, and market expansion. By managing external vendor partners and collaborating with internal stakeholders, the incumbent will deliver on marketing and corporate objectives with measurable Return On Investment (ROI) and optimized Customer Acquisition Cost. Leveraging member insights, Marketing Technology (MarTech), and AI-enabled automation, the Marketing Director will lead the design of personalized activations and journeys that boost lifetime value in an agile environment.
Responsibilities:
Communication Works with the EVP, Chief Marketing Officer and other key stakeholders to recommend and implement strategic and tactical direction for defining who, what, when, why and how we engage with members and prospects. Defines and crafts messages, as well as directs production and implementation. Sets and monitors member marketing standards, as well as reviews and edits marketing assets within these guidelines. In collaboration with Business Intelligence team, defines target audience(s) for campaigns and outreach efforts, leverages data and insights, and monitors, tracks, and reports results. Measures and monitors effectiveness of campaigns and provides data-driven recommendations to optimize marketing strategies. Serves as Marketing representative/main contact for key internal and external strategic partnerships. Ensures all engagements and communications meet brand standards. Defines the brand value proposition and key segments, establishes and socializes brand standards across the organization to ensure relevant, impactful and consistent brand voice, tone and content. Strategic Leadership Develops and executes a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with company objectives. Leads brand positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies across all channels. Leads and collaborates with marketing agencies and vendors. Collaborates with executive leadership to shape company vision and growth plans. Team Management Builds, mentors, and manages a high-performing marketing team across all touchpoints: content, product, promotion and PR. Fosters a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement. Demand Generation & Growth Oversees demand generation, leads nurturing, and customer acquisition strategies. Drives performance marketing initiatives to optimize ROI and customer lifetime value. Brand & Communications Elevates brand awareness and reputation through PR, social media, events, and partnerships. Ensures consistent brand voice and messaging across all touchpoints. Integrated Marketing Partners with cross functional teams to develop positioning, messaging, and competitive analysis. Leads product launches, emerging markets, and member engagement strategies. Responsible for vendor and agency oversight and negotiations. Ensures seamless member journey and experiences at all touchpoints. Analytics & Budgeting Defines KPIs and uses data-driven insights to optimize campaigns and strategies. Analyzes member data, behavior insights to drive data driven decisions and test-and-learn programs. Leverages MarTech and AI tools to automate and personalize journeys. Manages the marketing budget and allocates resources effectively. Public Relations (PR): Collaborates with PR consultant and works to integrate PR as a marketing channel to highlight/promote the Tech CU brand using a variety of vehicles such as press releases, media talking points, interviews, special events, photo opportunities, and community involvement activities. Develops relationships with key media contacts in our market area, both within and outside the credit union industry.
Other Duties:
Performs other related duties as assigned or associated with the responsibility. Provides direction and support to the agency of record's Strategic Marketing Director and Marketing Specialists with Tech CU's philosophy, policies, plans and procedures. Leads overall marketing operations, working closely with marketing agency of record team members to plan, prioritize and assign all marketing-related projects—on time, on budget, and at high-quality. Represents marketing at enterprise level meetings and events. Oversees Member Satisfaction/Net Promoter Score survey program. Supervisory Functions Establishes scope of authority, schedule and responsibility for direct reports. Engages with direct reports and peers to align goals with organizational goals and objectives, establish performance metrics, provide feedback and develop talent. Manages and monitors budget to maximize operating efficiencies. Reviews and responds to issues identified in audit and regulatory reports. Supports established policy and procedures, recommending changes as needed. Effectively manages a hybrid workforce (onsite and remote) through strong communication, collaboration and engagement practices. Work Schedule Full-time; typically 40+ hours/week Flexible within core business hours, M-F Occasional extended early morning or late evening hours, and weekends, typically with advance notice. Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
6+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry with a strong knowledge of and demonstrable results in consumer branding, advertising, acquisition, and marketing programs/campaigns. Basic web design (HTML) and/or project management software (such as JIRA) experience is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of current trends and financial products and services (mortgage, home equity line of credit, auto loan, credit card, checking/savings accounts, bill pay, online and mobile banking, etc.), pricing, credit union/bank compliance requirements, as well as the competitive landscape. Strong ability to think strategically and execute tactics well, with a bias toward action. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, facilitate constructive discussion and challenge opposing viewpoints when necessary. Great program development and project management skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Highly professional working proficiency in both spoken and written US English, essential for formal written and digital communications, reports, and presentations. Skilled, proactive business partner

Travel:
May be required to visit Tech CU locations outside of headquarters, typically with advance notice. Will be required to occasionally attend offsite meetings or events, including occasional overnight travel, typically with advance notice.

Work Location:
The salary range listed is based on working in San Jose, CA . If you work remotely, your salary will be adjusted based on your geographic location.
Typical Starting Pay:
Most new hires start between the minimum and midpoint of the range (adjusted for work location if applicable), based on experience and qualifications.
Bonus Potential:
Target 15% of base salary based on company and individual performance. Tech CU is a pay-for-performance organization.
