MPP, At-Will, Full Time, Marketing/Communications Job Summary •This position is open to current SJSU employees only.• Reporting to the Executive Director for University Marketing, the Director of SJSU Online Marketing will drive activities and messaging that expands the University's real-world campus to SJSU Online, a portfolio of 40-50 fully online, hybrid, and professional and continuing education (PaCE) programs for undergraduate, graduate, and adult learners. The Director will leverage original and third-party research, the University's brand standards and a master campaign to create messaging and ads that bring qualified applicants to the top-of-the funnel. Additionally, the Director will work in partnership with the Vice Provost for Academic Innovation and Online Initiatives to create consistency and continuity with other efforts. The Director is part of UMC and will lead a marketing team consisting of a project manager, two CRM Strategists, an Online Marketing Specialist, and a copywriter/content manager. The Director ensures that efforts are appropriately prioritized and managed to achieve the mission and enrollment goals for SJSU Online while ensuring University and division-wide consistency. Key Responsibilities Oversee and direct the work of the online enrollment marketing team to ensure positive outcomes and alignment of resources with SJSU Online's priorities. Ensure the ongoing training and professional development of direct reports. Develop a robust marketing strategy to attract students who are seeking to enroll in 40+ online, hybrid, or professional and continuing education programs for bachelor's, master's, and certificate programs. Use original and third-party research, University branding and insights, and supportive communications to nurture leads from inquiry to application. Ensure all marketing efforts are aligned across integrated channels: Web, CRM (Slate), Digital Advertising, Video, Social Media, Print, etc. Represent the interests of SJSU Online marketing on various committees and working groups, ensuring effective inter-departmental collaboration, identification of marketing opportunities, and implementation of synergistic strategies and tactics that serve the university's overall marketing needs. Provide necessary tools and resources to SJSU Online recruiters and ensure content accuracy across all materials and platforms through collaboration with Enrollment Management and Academic Affairs. Recommend and advocate for resources to support the marketing efforts necessary to yield the enrollment targets. Work closely with full UMC team, the SAVP for UMC and the Director of Online Recruitment to ensure accurate forecasting for recruitment efforts and adequate lead creation for recruitment and enrollment efforts. Hire and manage relationships with core agencies and external partners, develop RFPs and manage onboarding of new vendors and SOWs. Work closely with the rest of the University Marketing and Communications department and other decentralized marketing teams to align marketing communication strategies. Report out consistently on marketing ROI and enrollment funnel performance and leverage data to inform marketing strategies and budget decisions. Manage a budget and coordinate use of funds strategically to meet enrollment goals. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of marketing strategy, campaign planning, and integrated marketing principles. Knowledge of website development, content management systems, search engine optimization (SEO), web usability, and analytics Ability to develop and implement direct-response marketing strategies, including online advertising, retargeting, and email marketing Demonstrated leadership skills with experience hiring, coaching, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative, transparent, and high-performing work environment Ability to assess marketing effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative metrics, including return on investment (ROI) Experience developing, implementing, and marketing online academic programs in higher education Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in creating compelling marketing strategies and campaigns Ability to collaborate effectively with division leaders, campus partners, and external stakeholders to build strong working relationships Knowledge of higher education marketing principles and practices, including student recruitment and enrollment marketing Knowledge of emerging trends, best practices, and growth opportunities within the digital marketing landscape Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field OR Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education Four years of marketing leadership experience; Demonstrated expert knowledge and experience using marketing automation platforms (e.g. Marketo, Hubspot, Pardot), customer relationship management tools (e.g. Slate) and project management tools (e.g. Asana) Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree in marketing or related field Experience in a higher education environment and Supervisory experience; Client and/or account management experience Compensation

Anticipated Hiring Range:
$11,667/month - $12,084/month
CSU Salary Range:
