Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager is a hands-on role responsible for executing and managing SLO Classical Academy and our subsidiaries' marketing, communications, enrollment support, and marketing program operations. Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Business, this person turns strategy into consistent, high-quality action, ensuring families experience clarity, warmth, and alignment with SLOCA's mission at every touchpoint. This role manages day-to-day marketing execution across the school, The Den bookstore, and the Wisdom Wonder Project online subscription program. The ideal candidate is an organized, meticulous, detail-oriented, and process-driven professional who thrives at the intersection of storytelling, operations, community creation, and top-notch communication.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Communications Plan, create, and execute enrollment marketing campaigns across digital (including marketing automation tools, CRM, student database, etc), social media, email, print, and event-based channels Draft, schedule, and manage content across social media platforms, email newsletters, website, and print materials Maintain and enforce brand consistency, voice, visual identity, and messaging across all school communications Support media relations, including press releases and local media engagement Track and report on performance metrics across revenue channels; recommend data-driven improvements to marketing and advertising tactics Partner with Admissions to support tours, inquiries, information nights, and intent-to-enroll campaigns Analyze performance data (insights, analytics) to refine content strategy and report results to the Director Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and mentions across all platforms in a timely, warm, and on-brand manner Proactively engage with local community pages, partner organizations, and family-tagged content to expand SLOCA's reach Foster a sense of community and belonging through interactive content such as polls, Q&As, highlights, and family spotlights Coordinate with The Den and Wisdom Wonder Project to cross-promote programs and products on social channels
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Required 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field Demonstrated ability to create compelling content across multiple platforms (social, email, web, print) Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for brand voice and consistency Experience managing content calendars and executing multi-channel campaigns Proficiency with social media management tools and email platforms Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously Collaborative mindset with a track record of working across teams Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or equivalent professional experience Preferred Experience in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations Familiarity with classical education or independent school environments Experience with video content creation (short-form reels, event recaps, testimonials) Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and Google Analytics Experience with enrollment marketing or customer journey mapping Comfort with light data analysis and performance reporting
Pay:
$24.04 - $28.85 per hour
