June 10, 2026 About Us The Santa Rosa Wednesday Night Market is one of Sonoma County's largest and longest-running community events, welcoming thousands of attendees each week throughout the summer season. The market brings together local businesses, food vendors, artisans, nonprofits, sponsors, musicians, and community members to create a vibrant and inclusive downtown experience. We are seeking an energetic, highly organized, and community-focused Market Manager to oversee year-round operations and help continue the growth and success of this beloved community event. Position Summary The Market Manager serves as the primary coordinator for the Santa Rosa Wednesday Night Market and is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all aspects of market operations, vendor relations, sponsor engagement, permitting, marketing, logistics, and community partnerships. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. ResponsibilitiesPlanning & Permitting Apply for and manage all required city and event permits Coordinate with city departments, public works, police, fire, and other agencies Ensure compliance with all local regulations and permit requirements Coordinate event layouts and vendor placement Safety & Logistics Coordinate security services and safety planning Ensure emergency access and public safety requirements are met Manage event setup and breakdown logistics Oversee traffic flow and operational planning Vendor & Exhibitor Management Manage vendor applications, approvals, and communications Maintain vendor records and payment tracking Coordinate exhibitor and nonprofit participation Provide vendor support before and during events Community & Business Engagement Build relationships with downtown businesses and community organizations Coordinate sponsor communications and fulfillment Assist with fundraising and partnership development Represent the market professionally within the community Administration & Communication Respond to emails, phone calls, and public inquiries Maintain organized records and documentation Coordinate meetings and operational communications Manage schedules, contracts, and event documentation Marketing & Promotion Coordinate marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns Assist with social media content and community outreach Coordinate signage, banners, printed materials, and advertising Work with media and community partners to promote events Qualifications Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in event management, nonprofit management, community outreach, business operations, or a related field Strong organizational and project management skills Experience working with vendors, sponsors, volunteers, or community organizations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Experience with budgeting, payments, and record keeping Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Desired Attributes Strong leadership abilities Positive and professional attitude Self-motivated and dependable Problem-solving mindset Passion for community events and economic development Ability to work independently while collaborating with a Board of Directors and stakeholders Schedule This is a year-round position. Hours will vary seasonally and include some evenings, weekends, and event days as required.
