Overview Southern Equipment is seeking an experienced HVAC & Supermarket Refrigeration Field Supervisor to lead and support our field technicians while remaining actively involved in service operations. This is a working supervisor role for someone with strong technical knowledge in supermarket refrigeration and commercial HVAC systems who can lead by example in the field. We are looking for someone who understands grocery store refrigeration environments, commercial HVAC environments, and can troubleshoot complex systems, support technicians, communicate with customers, and help ensure service calls are completed safely and efficiently. What You'll Work On Supermarket rack systems Walk-in coolers and freezers Reach-in and display cases Condensing units and evaporators RTUs and commercial HVAC equipment Refrigeration controls, EPRs, TXVs, solenoids, and EMS systems Emergency refrigeration and HVAC service calls Technician training and field support Chiller experience a plus Project Management Experience a plus Responsibilities Supervise and support HVAC/R technicians in the field Assist technicians with troubleshooting difficult refrigeration and HVAC issues Perform service calls, repairs, and diagnostics as needed Monitor quality of work, safety practices, and customer communication Train and mentor technicians on troubleshooting and best practices Communicate with management regarding manpower, parts, and customer concerns Assist with quoting repairs and identifying additional repair needs Support after-hours and on-call operations when needed Maintain strong relationships with customers and store management Qualifications 10+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience Strong supermarket/grocery refrigeration experience required Experience working on rack systems and refrigeration controls Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred EPA Certification Valid driver's license Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on in the field Highly Preferred Experience managing supermarket refrigeration environments Familiarity with EMS and control systems Experience in grocery, cold storage, or 24/7 operations Experience training or mentoring technicians Ability to manage multiple service priorities in a fast-paced environment What We Offer Highly Competitive salary based upon experience Company vehicle Company phone and tablet Overtime opportunities 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off Stable company with over 70 years in business About Southern Equipment Southern Equipment has been providing commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and plumbing services since 1952.
