POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a creative, organized, and collaborative marketing professional who can produce engaging content across multiple digital platforms in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, self-starter and team player skilled in content creation, design, social media management, brand identity and website management. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Development and routinely interacts with the Explore Evansville Convention Sales, Sport Sales, and Evansville Sports Complex management teams. This position is responsible for executing and supporting marketing initiatives and does not include direct supervisory responsibility unless assigned. The successful candidate will play an important role in moving large and impactful strategies forward to benefit the tourism industry in Evansville and the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and manage paid and organic social media strategies and analyze performance.
  • Coordinate, design and manage e-mail marketing efforts including monthly newsletters and targeted sales campaigns.
  • Ensure website and other platforms are maintained with current digital assets, including (but not limited to) updating photo/video, e-mail marketing lists, calendar of events, and online sales collateral.
  • Assist the Director of Marketing & Development with analyzing the performance of digital campaigns, public relations campaigns, and make recommendations as needed.
  • Create engaging digital content including photography, videography, graphic design, written copy and multimedia assets for marketing campaigns and social media platforms.
  • Assist the Director of Marketing & Development in implementation of marketing strategies.
  • Support destination marketing initiatives to drive visitation, overnight stays, event attendance, and economic impact.
  • Create and maintain a content calendar and ensure timely delivery of marketing campaigns and digital assets.
  • Reinforce brand identity and uphold branding standards in all marketing and promotional materials.
  • Research and Development of marketing trends and news-worthy content for newsletters.
  • Monitor and report marketing KPIs including website traffic, social engagement, campaign performance, lead generation, earned media value, conversion metrics, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments on event and tourism-driven marketing support needs.
  • Collaborate with community partners, tourism stakeholders and local businesses on promotional initiatives.
  • Use management platform(s) to schedule social content across all platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a minimum of 3 years' experience in an equivalent professional environment preferred.
  • Management of multiple projects at once.
  • Experience with social media preferred.
  • Graphic design skills preferred.
  • Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator), and/or Canva preferred.
  • Experience in Brand Management or Brand Design preferred.
  • Experience with CMS, CRM, social media scheduling platforms, email marketing platforms, and analytics tools preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of SEO, SEM and email marketing tools.
  • Strong analytical and market research skills desirable.
  • Experience with PPC advertising (Google Ads, etc.) desirable.
  • Experience with a DSLR camera for Photo and Video is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, proficient multi-tasker with an attention to detail.
WORK AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This position requires excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • The work environment is a traditional office environment with people, minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
  • On occasion, this position will assist at events, with outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements. During such times, this position requires the ability to bend, reach, stand or walk for long periods.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, and event attendance required.
