POSITION SUMMARY
the Sales Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction and sales leadership for a rapidly growing organization. This role leads and manages sales activities across the lumber, component and other various home building product lines. The Sales Manager is accountable for developing new business, driving profitable revenue growth, and expanding market share across the single-family builder, multi-family, commercial, and project channels throughout the Kansas City area and beyond.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership & Growth
  • Develop and execute a profitable growth strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Define and implement sales strategies, business plans, and Go-To-Market strategies.
  • Establish measurable goals that align with organizational objectives and values.
  • Analyze and evaluate sales effectiveness, methods, costs, and results to drive continuous improvement
  • Determine "Plan to Sell" strategies and maintain all pricing and program files.
  • Communicate customer needs and market trends to guide product and process decisions.
  • Forecasting and pipeline management. Business Development
  • Add new single-family (custom and production), multifamily, and commercial builders.
  • Pursue and secure select high-end project business opportunities.
  • Grow market share across strategic statewide accounts and key builder segments.
  • Develop and execute strategies to penetrate and expand major strategic accounts. Sales Team Leadership
  • Plan, lead, and manage the sales force while coordinating with key internal groups (COO, Marketing, Regional Sales).
  • Hire, train, mentor, and develop sales team members.
  • Conduct joint sales calls and provide coaching in the field.
  • Inspire and lead by example, fostering a high-performance, accountable sales culture.
  • Develop and manage sales budgets in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Relationship Management & Negotiation
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with strategic builders, subcontractors, and statewide accounts.
  • Lead sales presentations, negotiate contracts, and close new business deals.
  • Assess risks and manage complex negotiations to drive profitable outcomes. Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of successful experience within the residential construction industry; builder-specific experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of and established relationships with local commercial, multifamily, custom, and production builders and subcontractors in the Kansas City area.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and grow high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with structured conceptual thinking.
  • Proven strategic thinker who can translate high-level objectives into practical, executable plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to assess risk and lead complex projects in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Strong intellectual rigor and disciplined execution mindset. Ability to travel as required throughout the Kansas City area. Characteristics for Success

Pay:
$110,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
