We develop creative, results‑driven campaigns for hundreds of nonfiction titles each year, and we're looking for an experienced marketing and publicity professional to help shape and execute campaigns in a competitive publishing landscape. This role will focus primarily on Mind, Body, Spirit (MBS), health, and pop culture titles across multiple Quarto imprints. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, brings fresh ideas to the table, and can develop and execute strategic marketing and publicity plans that drive sales, build author and brand awareness, and maximize exposure across print, digital, broadcast, and emerging channels. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute dynamic, creative, and results‑driven marketing and publicity campaigns for 40-50 titles per year, with a focus on MBS, health, and pop culture. Create tailored marketing and publicity plans with clear goals at both the title and list level. Confidently pitch lead titles to targeted media outlets and cultivate strong relationships with key print, online, and broadcast media contacts. Collaborate with external publicity partners when appropriate. Write press releases, build media lists, develop media kits, and secure meaningful and strategic PR coverage. Communicate media coverage to authors, agents, and internal teams in a timely, enthusiastic, and professional manner. Lead audience‑focused marketing strategies for wellness communities, pop culture fandoms, and trend‑driven enthusiast groups. Foster and grow engaged communities around core MBS, health, and pop culture categories. Build strong relationships with authors, agents, influencers, and internal stakeholders to generate excitement for upcoming titles. Develop and oversee paid and organic social media strategies for assigned titles. Create A+ content and other marketing assets as needed. Collaborate with the broader marketing team on umbrella campaigns and influencer partnerships. Stay current on emerging trends in social media, wellness, and pop culture, bringing insights that help inform and evolve marketing strategy. Travel to trade shows, conventions, and author events as needed. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree preferred. 3+ years of experience planning and executing marketing and publicity campaigns, preferably in publishing. Strong knowledge of media, public relations, and book publishing practices. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized with excellent time‑management and multitasking abilities. Proven ability to work collaboratively with Publishing, Sales, and Author teams. Experience supporting author care and communications. Creative thinker with a strong interest in digital marketing and innovative campaign execution. Willingness to learn, adapt, and evolve with organizational and industry changes. Preferred Familiarity with Mind, Body, Spirit, health, and pop culture communities and audiences. Knowledge of the art, craft, and design market. Experience with enthusiast or fandom‑driven audiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Cision, Edelweiss, and Box/Dropbox. Relationships with independent bookstores a plus.
